Student Carrying ‘Trump’ Flag Assaulted Outside School

Minneapolis police say no arrests have been made after a student carrying a flag with the word “Trump” on it was assaulted outside of Southwest High School.

Police say the altercation happened while students were outside of the building during National School Walkout Day Wednesday morning.
As students were observing a moment of silence, two students confronted the flag-baring student across the street from campus.

Six other students joined in the confrontation, taking away his flag, damaging his camera and inflicting minor injuries.

In all seriousness, this 18yo high school student shouldn't have a national voice, her voice should only extended locally and within her school. Social media elevates without merit, but the media elevates her voice to frame their narrative.

This is something society needs to address.

If the politician from Maine or any other state or you or I want go excersise our Constitutional right to criticize someone who is postulating a policly or an opinion that we disagree with we have that right. We also gave the right to be stupid and insulting to a teen.

Yet I believe that it is morally wrong to insult a teen girl for the way she looks and for her alleged sexuality. What does her opinion on gun ownership gave to do with her alleged sexuality?

You want to disagree with political or other position fine do so. Her alleged sexuality have nothing to do with her opinion on gun possession or gun purchase.

I would agree that it doesn't add anything constructive to the discussion, but unfortunately it's indicative of the problem we're having on both sides of this debate. Too many people are either unwilling or incapable of discussing this in a calm, rational and mature manner and that's arguably the main reason why we are no closer to remedying this problem than we were before the Parkland shooting.
