And why is that?
From the young age kids are raised being exposed to gratification of alcohol. All gatherings involve booze. Many parents allow themselves a few drinks at home for no reason. It’s considered normal.
Kids that smoke pot tend to be rebellious kind, those who are not doing well. Those who are OK with breaking a law and obtaining an illegal substance. That’s why there is a stereotype - potheads are stupid and quit on life.

Now let’s think about this: many people who come home from work pop a few beers, or a few glasses of wine. Many do it every day. As they age they drink more and more. Many end up becoming addicted. Most are functional alcoholics, but some become those alcoholics that you hear about often - drinking in the morning, ruined family, ruined career, etc. Did you know that withdrawal from alcohol can kill you? Booze also raises blood pressure, and it’s heavy on calories, which results in all kinds of heart disease, diabetes, cancers, etc.
Marijuana, on the other hand has minimal addiction. It doesn’t raise your blood pressure and while it causes munchies, most people who regularly consume cannabis tend to be on skinnier side. Also, getting high, in most cases, involves virtually no calories, while each shoot of booze is around 80. High drivers never drive recklessly, unlike drunk drivers. Marijuana high also lasts just about 2 hours - you can get so baked that you feel like you drank a bottle of vodka and then in 2 hours you’ll be OK to drive and be perfectly sober.

One nice think that pot has and alcohol doesn’t is that you can pick what kind of high you want, as well as taste and smell. In alcohol you can only pick strength and taste. You can pick a strain that fits your mood and desires - some make you energetic, or focused, or talkative, others make you sleepy and lock you into your couch with no desire to talk, and a whole universe of everything in between. You probably tried pot in your life and I am willing to bet that you tried something similar to Chemdawg - a 50/50 hybrid, strong high that can lock you into a couch and makes you giggly.

There are some pretty good strains out there: East Coast Sour Diesel is comparable to Miller Light, Jack Herer is a bit stronger, Chemdawg is typical street weed, Strawberry Kush is nice evening high that makes you feel like your body is very heavy, and, my favorite, White 99 (which I think should be named Atom Bomb).

I consume cannabis every day. My salary is 6 figures. I have a family of 4, I can afford for my wife to not work. I also hold a Masters Degree. I’m sorry, but I’m not a loser and I did not quit life. In fact, I’m actually very happy.
In my eyes it’s the people who consume alcohol every day who are the real losers - waiting for 5 PM, making up excuses, feeding their growing addiction and ruining their health. Also, do you know how disgusting people smell at parties and gatherings, even if they had just a few drinks? My vape virtually doesn’t smell, but your breath will reek with stink for hours after you stopped drinking.
Take your stereotypes somewhere else.

I got caught up in the marijuana game in about 1971. SMoked it grew it m and sold it. Finally got tired of being "high" and found out it was like being high without it. (fortunate for me) Many of my fellow smokers my age that continued are now experiencing forms of dementia. It's like a new high altogether I would suppose. Seriously, I don't think our country needs more passive, lazy males.

 

I can have a couple beers with dinner and it no way near changes the outlook I have on life as it would if I smoked a doobie. Those of you that want to use alchohol as leverage to legalize pot are just "lyin' dogfaced pony soldiers".....Com'on man!!!
