Do you think these are the "birth pangs" the lord warns us of in the scriptures.

I personally believe we are seeing the signs the lord told us to look for. But am curious what my fellow Christians think.

Atheists while I don't really care what you guys think or believe, feel free to respond as well. I'm always up for a good argument with an atheist. ;)

Tornadoes and earthquakes are happening in diverse places?

Has there been an earthquake away form a fault line? Or a tornado where one has never been before?

I assume there have been both in the entire recorded history of the world. Why would one suddenly assume that the ones now are caused by the divine? Wouldn't your mythological god, if he or she wanted to destroy the earth, just destroy it rather than leveling (*)(*)(*)(*)-holes in the Midwest a few at a time?

I think that anyone who thinks this is in any way a sign from their imaginary friend isn't thinking.

Earthquake activity for example is normal.

I think you're doing right in not caring what people who don't share your beliefs think about this because in this instance it's not those you should worry about. Some of your "fellow Christians" seem to be quite upset about the recent doomsday prophecies and go to astonishingly great lengths to call their fellow Christians names for believing in these things. Heck, there was even a recent thread title that suggested such believers to be abnormal Christians that can't be stopped by "normal Christians".

Tornadoes and earthquakes and wildfires happen all the time. You just can't allow the media narrative to run your life john.

What a Steaming Pile of Self-Righteous Feces!

The only thing that's changed is the HUGE surplus of humans in the way of Earth's Flatulence.

    Think about it.

    The Earth Farts!!

Every tornado, flood, earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, drought, pestilence, and cold snap has hundreds of times more people in its way than it did 200 years ago.

Well, I'm christian, and I'm not sure if these are "birth pangs" or not. They could be, and if so how much longer will they continue?

You must be blissfully ignorant if you don't believe these things happen and have been happening ALL THE TIME.

Do you have a reason to believe that these earthquakes, tornadoes, and wildfires are not happening due to natural causes, and if so, can you explain why they are not?

No. Of course not. It's just weather and nature at work. If anything it may be provoked by man's misuse of the environment.

If you seriosuly believe what was written in the Bible, I assume you refer to Revelations, you are deluding yourself mate. That book was written by a very old, paraoid and frightened Jew while living in a cave for years. He was deadly afraid of Nero and had visions of his world ending.

SO he wrote these things down and they did not happen at all. Nero died, so did the Jew and you are here, nearly 2000 years later, saying it was meant for us to believe.

WHich is patently insane as it was written for uneducated minds of the time in which it was written, not for today.

Oh shoot. This startling development strikes fear into my heart. This is unprecedented. Natural disasters just don't happen without unnatural intervention; they never have, they never will.

You're right. They could be. Be afraid. Be very afraid. God has yet to resolve this chapter in the intergalactic tragi-comedy of free will fighting divine force, and when he finally strikes it will be with all of his magic power. The moon will be as a death star, and the Sun will cease powering solar panels. I saw it in a vision.

Actually, if you go check the statistics, then we are going through a period that started in 1996 of mild and limited movements of the earth. So no, natural events are not a sign of any religious nonsense.

September 07, 2011 | One of the most devastating wildfire outbreaks in Texas history left more than 1,000 homes in ruins Tuesday and stretched the state's firefighting ranks to the limit, confronting Gov. Its more interesting than that.. Revelation was written in the past tense circa 90 Ad AFTER the destruction of the Temple by Titus and AFTER the death of Nero by suicide in 68 AD.

The people were so afraid of Nero than they believed (until 500 AD) that he would be resurrected and come back to persecute and kill them.

It was the conspiracy theory of its day.

Tectonic plates pretty much explains the occurrence of earthquakes, far more accurately than any ancient text.

Go to the USGS earthquake monitoring site. There are dozens of earthquakes around the world daily, and there have been for many years.

Don't understand the whole obsession with end-times. We should always live as if we are in the end-times, as we could die tomorrow.

    Yes...and always will be.

Looking for proofs of of the Divine in tea leaves to earthquakes to black holes is an activity old as humanity.

When the Pocky-Lips comes, the source will be humanity and the signs will be social disorder founded in widespread ignorance.

Bizarre 2012 earthquake signals birth of world's newest tectonic plate
September 27, 2012 - After millions more years of similar earthquakes, the ruptures will begin to favor a particular path, giving rise to a new plate boundary, and separating today's existing plate into two.
