You can keep imagining too. No such event has occurred in recent times, if ever.

Going to be a nutter scenario much like Lindt Cafe. Someone could be on a watch list and be perfectly rational and not do anything that looks like it's going to get them locked up and then that same person could be suffering mental illness and go and do something like this. This sort of behaviour is totally unpredictable, no matter if someone is on a watch list or not. We really need to improve our mental health capabilities in Australia.

    Yeeeeesssss.

    Isn't that interesting.

Why doesn't America have mass shootings involving automatic weapons?

Indeed, great question. Did we have a big rash before they became highly regulated, what year did that stop?

Don't be coy, automatics were never a problem and you know it. Otherwise you would have answered honestly.

    Hands off my guns.

Interesting to see Morrison and Shorten calling terrorist attacks "islamic terrorist attacks"
rather than stating that the offender had a mental problem.
Of course, we all know that they are terrorist attacks, and that the authorities are just trying to keep
a lid on the reactions of the public to any attack by stating a mental problem was the cause.
Of course, the muslims will moan and they will probably retract their statements.

No at all Australia has a much lower tolerance for immigration both legal and illegal than Europe or America which is ironic given they've been there the least time. Nobody cares what the Aborigines think.

But in the 80's and 90's things were a lot easier.

I see the muslim community is up in arms about Morrisons comment.
Well, who could have predicted that, except everyone in Australia.

    Not really

We have had "boat people" arrive since the end of the Vietnam war. Most have integrated very well. What we have had to be intolerant of is people smuggling

Not much interest being shown in terrorism on this forum these days, although
Azza Mahmoud Fawzi Hosseini Ali el Serougi (aka as Anne Aly MP) compared
it to domestic violence and stated that Morrisons comments were dividing the community.
I guess its normal for muslims to play the victim card isnt it.
I would have thought that it was a perfectly good, commonsense idea for the
muslim community to get involved, particularly if someone is aware of a radicalised
    muslim within their community.
If I heard someone threatening to kill the Prime Minister, then I would contact Police,
as would anyone else. But it seems that muslims simply protect their own, irrespective
of their intentions to commit jihad.

Exactly, and this is the very reason the muslim community have to get involved. If they dont want to get involved in stopping jihadists, then the question has to be asked "why not?"

I think they do, the majority of them, Dutton implied that a lot of intelligence that helped them stop the 17 or so they have stopped came from community sources

And right now illegals when discovered in Australia are given emergency health care and then immediately deported.

Things changed in the 90's used to be easy to go Australia it was in the 2000's the crackdown started.

My friend has a work visa the person he travelled with was turned for one because even with 2 degrees she didn't tick the boxes they wanted.
