I'm surprised that NBC wrote a whole article on the pajama boy and snowflake mentality affecting the younger generation.

It's about time the alt-left took notice and is facing it head on.

These pajama boy and snowflake types need to snap out of it and grow the **** up!

Very curious as to what those degrees are in. Usually a Masters degree in something useful wont see you sitting on the sidelines.

If it's Philosophy, Art history or Gender studies...well, she should have known better.

Flooding universities and the labor market with more immigrants will hopefully help things. If I learned anything in Economics 101, it's that dramatically increasing the supply of something (like labor) increases its value!

Honestly though, it's not right to expect today's generation (overall) to have it as good as the boomers, who grew up in an environment where there was really no other countries in the world that could have competed with the US. Globalization had not happened yet, and by the time it started, the boomers already had established themselves in their respective industries. This generation isn't really getting that chance. Also, many boomers were able to get inheritance from their parents. Boomers nowadays, when they are having children, are leaving nothing for them. They spend not only what they inherited, but also what they have managed to make for themselves. And, of course, the boomers were the generation that allowed massive amounts of immigration to take place, taking both low-skilled jobs and highly skilled tech jobs.

Many in today's generation need to get used to the idea of living with less. The Boomers were ripped from the womb at a very unique and prosperous time in history, and that's not likely to happen again unless there is a major war that takes out the majority of the West's economic competition (which is unlikely).

Thanks for the example on why discussing issues with the left is a waste of time.

Most of the industry jobs have gone over seas. But not construction. I worked construction to survive while going to college during the 70's.

But today most of those construction jobs are held by uneducated low skilled undocumented Democrats (illegal aliens) and it's uneducated and low skill immigrants and illegal aliens that made once well paying jobs low paying jobs that Americans refuse to do.

I agree. Telling your kid that he/she is a special, smart, perfect little angel when evidence points to little Johnny being a moron doesn't help him face the kick in the ass he's going to get in the real world.

Like I told someone else, that's great for him. hope he keeps that job because they aren't really in high demand. Same with Fine Art majors. Some are making great dough....some are paying student loans back while frosting cupcakes at the Supermarket.

Fantasy #1: Yeah, illegal aliens are lined up for blocks to vote against Republicans. Reality Check #1: Contractors, they are often Republicans, are first to hire and underpay illegal aliens. That's why they own a big home with a Trump sign in the yard, and a boat in the driveway. Hey, you people killed the unions and then the middle class, defending anything the Corporate State does. Stop whining like a bunch of snowflakes.

That reinforces what I was saying. Some majors are very weak as far as demand, and you learn it to turn around and teach it....or you toss it aside and run a casino.
