I think this is just the new mentality of many in this upcoming generation. Part of it is likely due to the job market and the fact that a college education doesn't necessarily guarantee a job in that field anymore, but part of it is the fact that many of these kids were never taught the concept of growing the hell up.

When I turned 18 I left the house. I wasn't forced to leave, but I chose to leave because one night my father virtually slapped the crap out of me with the cold hard truth of reality. I remember I was 18 years old and I came wandering in the house at like 2am. He was sitting in the chair and asked me where I had been and why I was out so late. I told him that I was 18 and a grown up now I can come and go as I please. His response was simple. "No you're not a grown up, grown folks have their own house". Then slapped a curfew on me.

So with that I decided to leave, not because I was mad at my dad but because I knew he was right. If you're still relying on mommy and daddy to buy you food and pay your rent then you aren't a grown up, you're a child it doesn't matter how old you are.

For me it was a pride thing plus it was how I was raised. I always had to work for everything I had. I never got an allowance or anything because my father didn't believe in "paying me for simply existing around here". Outside of birthdays and Christmas he never bought me anything because "you have a roof, food, and hot water and thats good enough. If you want anything else then go buy it yourself". When high school graduation came around many kids I knew got outlandish gifts like an actual new car or a vacation package or something. I got a handshake. Not because my father couldn't afford to get me anything but because "graduating high school isn't an achievement, you're supposed to do that...".

All of that growing up simply reinforced the message that he was trying to convey, nobody is going to give you anything go out and work and make your own way in the world. Don't rely on people to support you go out and support yourself. So when I turned 18 that's what I did. It's funny because decades later when we talk about this my father tells me that the hardest thing for him to do was to watch me leave the house and telling me I could always come home while simultaneously hoping that I never did.

That's the problem with a lot of kids nowadays, it's partially their own fault and it's partially their parents fault. No parent wants to see their kids struggle but parents need to understand that their kids NEED to struggle. Life is a struggle, stop giving them everything, stop pampering them, when they fall down don't go running over to them to pick them up, make them learn how to dust themselves off and get up on their own.

This is how this new age crybaby society has been created. Young people running around whining that life isn't fair and they DESERVE this or that because mommy and daddy told them they were special their whole lives and hugged them every time they cried and gave them stuff when they asked. So when they get out in to the real world they have no idea how to function and throw a fit whenever something doesn't go their way.

We always blame the kids of this generation for this but in all reality it's OUR generation who RAISED these "snowflakes". They didn't just materialize out of thin air. For the most part kids are the product of their upbringing. If you raise a crybaby then they will grow up to be a crybaby. Can't blame it all on the kids.

I don't know, perhaps I was just raised different but I mean damn even speaking in layman's terms how is it not simply embarrassing being in your 20s or 30s living in your parents house? I mean hell you go out and meet a nice woman at the bar or something and have to sneak her in the house because your mommy is sleeping lol...

There is no such thing as an anti-choice conservative. What you meant to say is pro-life conservative.

    Conservatives are for choice.

Choice to own any gun you want.
Choice to go to any school you want.
Choice to keep your own money.
    etc..

You have your reasons. You can now claim you would have been king of the universe except for those horrible baby boomers who gave you the internet, cell phones, PC's and everything else anyone needs to be successful. Yeah....you are screwed

Except they don't want women to have a choice
They don't want women to have a choice whether to have a kid or not...that is Anti-Choice......and unless they've adopted unwanted kids or fought against cutting funding to social programs that aid CHILDREN then they are NOT really "Pro-Life".

Back to the topic: Anyone who thinks TV is real life probably won't mature.

Conservatives are against women murdering their unborn baby.

    Liberals are pro-death.

Tip of the day: adulthood sucks balls. When the baby boomers finally fall off the map, there's going to be more work than any of them want. They will wish they had just enjoyed the down time.

It's amazing people don't dive more into the changes that could happen when the massive wealth locked down by baby boomers is reintroduced into the American economy. It will effect every landscape, and some lives will change completely. Like night and day.

That demographic wields so much purchase and voting power they've had complete control from birth to death.

What facts? Like that we gave you every technological advantage you need to succeed? If you are not successful in this country....you aren't trying

The baby boomers are the most egocentric batch of consuming demagogues on yhe planet. Social security, medicare and medicaid, the economy, our political landscape, all of it is a flaming ruin thanks to the greed and egocentrist conservatism of baby boomers.

Sorry. If youre a baby boomer, thanks for squandering the wealth of our nation and destroying it for all future generations.

Youre clearly delusional. Yes, project your assertions onto people not born yet. "Hardship builds character" is hilarious coming from a member of a generation that inherited massive wealth, a booming economy and a country at the top of the world.

Thanks to you lot squandering it, we have two working parent households, people paying into a ponzi scheme to support the greediest generation known to man, and an economy that has grown the income for generation x at a 40 percent reduced rate compared to the baby boomers.

    You people make me sick.

Yeah, single out one very tiny portion of the population and apply it across the entirety of newer generations.

Geberation x at this stage of its economic and income development is earning a massive 40 percent less in wage or income increases compared to baby boomers.

Tie that into the fact none of you want to retire or if you do you go out and get a job that is typically entry level to keep earning while making ss money, and youre still robbing the youth.

Baby boomers. Cant come fast enough, the day that they have no more political power. Vapid scum that they arw.

Ok son. Let's hear your resume. Ever serve your country? Ever work all day and go to school all night? Ever stick it out at a cappy job for a decade because that's what's good for your family?

Or are you just sad that you are not as special as your mommy and daddy told you were?

Grow up. Man up. You live in the greatest country on the planet. Stop making excuses and start working your azz off. You can't find success in your mother's basement. Lol

Once they can't contribute to the national narrative anymore, history books will echo your perspective until the day America is no more.

They absolutely are the cancer that crippled the nation.

The people who bought homes for 18k, while making 15 an hour in the 70s. Who sent all the jobs overseas to make even more money, so now we all make 15 in 2017, while trying to buy their 18k homes they've marked up to 240k to sell to us.

May everyone of them burn in hell.
