Yeah, Remember how Trump refused to invoke the defense production act?
They were smart enough to know they were going to need them - Trump, not so much.
In case you didn't notice We just blew thru 12,500 in less than 2 months.

    It's just the flu.....

The only way it works is if you are the hermit kingdom, or maybe a dictatorship like Cuba's response to AIDS:

Shutting down travel from what is perceived as a major source of infection does not mean it is wrong if some other backdoor opens.
We have topics on here proving that "liberals" were more worried about the racism of calling it "Wuhan" or "Chinese," something to attack Trump on, which is the sole purpose of this topic, than about shutting borders to Europeans.
Feel free to find one post by anyone who was so upset about "Wuhan" that they said ban European travel to the US.

You understand we want lots of cases so people can catch it and build immunities. Our death per capita is quite good compared to other countries and even better when you consider how many people have it and remain untested and show little to no symptoms. It could easily be millions and probably is, making the death toll far less “scary”.

And if Trump shut down ALL travel back in January, Democrats would be calling him a Dictator, so spare us your fake concern. The WHO said it couldn’t even be transmitted. Democrats were telling people to keep on partying. There were still debates on. Again spare us your incredibly useless hindsight. We could have avoided Pearl Harbor and 9/11 with people as smart and insightful as you in charge, hehe.

We had them. We could have kept them.

Taken together, the numbers add up to well over the 28.5 million face masks that mayors of nearly 200 U.S. cities told a trade organization they need to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

Ventilators, too, saw a spike. The U.S. exported $11.4 million worth of the breathing machines to China in the first two month of last year compared with $27.2 million in the first two months of this year, just weeks before states and hospitals started begging the federal

You can catch it if you want to. I think I'll wait and get a vaccine.

Why don't you ask the CDC if they think a real test would have been better.

Hard to have a proper test for a virus we've never seen. Or does your awesome hindsight come magic production capabilities?

Be sure not to leave your house for 16months because we ain’t seeing one until then unless a miracle happens. I’ve been risking since this started since I have to pop into work a couple days per week. Wash hands, wear a mask, don’t be on top of each other. If you’re healthy and have no immune deficiencies or lung issues, the odds are pretty low of complications.

Yes, and the article also mentions the drawback of keeping them; they keep them too. We give to them when they need it, they give to us when we need it.

So before it gets to you, you try to stop it, and somehow according to ronv, that is wrong. So according to ronv, we should just let them die, and then not get butt hurt when they refuse to help us.

Okay, so let's get this 100% correct from now on, ronv is against all foreign aid; we can keep it.

You can't deny the results, but you can misstate them.

In terms of deaths per million the US is doing better than Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, Switzerland, Sweden and Luxemborg.

Denmark, Germany, Portugal and Austria are doing better with Ireland about the same.

The US is in the toward the bottom of the pack of Western Nations.

The virus hit Europe two weeks before crossing the Atlantic.

The growth curve of infections in the US is roughly the same as in Spain and Italy two weeks ago.

So expect the US to break the record for the number of deaths per capita as well.

The WHO test was available in mid January. We were just finding out ours was broken in March.
WHO had given away 1.6 million tests by then.

Why would we want foreign tests? That's just asking for trouble...

We shall see. I doubt it.

With TDS, the doom is always in the future and yet never materializes.

If the current projection of 60,000 deaths is accurate (and the number is revised downward almost daily, thank God), the deaths per million will still be less than Spain, Italy, Belgium and France are now and the Netherlands and UK won't need many more deaths to exceed the US number.

And in this particular case, the foreign tests did not work, and such was not known until it was too late.

I don't wish any harm on anyone.

But I do wish that all the heads of state who have mismanaged this crisis will be punished at the elections.

    Agreed with that?
