I am a great believer in human stupidity. I don't expect heads of state to be all that smart and expect them to blunder constantly as they muddle through crises. I don't think that Hillary or Biden or Cruz or any other 2016 hopefuls would have done much better or much worse.

People never learn anything except through hard knocks. The US will be better prepared for the next pathogen coming from China. The US was spared SARS but Korea, Japan, HK were not. That is why they did better than the US and Europe

Shut Downs are a State by State issue...

Learn the difference between Federal and State.

The "resources" mainly came form the Federal Stockpile and through FEMA cordination with the states. Never mind the Defense act which pushed manufactures to produce certain items.. While its applauded what the states did on their own the majority of it was done on a Federal level..
You know know this if you watched any of the Briefings.

I'm sorry but I've yet to hear Trump recommend a shut down. Not that he couldn't order one if he really wanted to.
FEMA did good. But they were late to the party. There is only now enough protective gear starting to be available.

There is a big difference between delegating and accepting responsibility. You must first accept responsibility before you can delegate it.
Do you remember the now famous Trump quote on responsibility?

He and his team have gone over it time after time after time..
Again you would know this if you watched the briefings instead of letting for example Don Lemon or a Rachel Maddow to tell you about it.

    Sure post it in context.

    This quote?

No, I don’t take responsibility at all,” Trump said about his administration’s lag in rolling out coronavirus tests, adding, “We were given a set of circumstances...it wasn't meant for this kind of an event with the kind of numbers that we're talking about."https://www.forbes.com/sites/lisett...hed-coronavirus-testing-rollout/#6e8ae2ca46f0

And Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee on Thursday that “the system is not really geared to what we need right now” in and called the testing system “a failing.”
“That's not the fault of anybody — and frankly the old system worked very well for smaller numbers, much smaller numbers but not for these kind of numbers,” he added.
Remember this guy ^^^^? He said nearly the same thing.

Take his team out of your sentence. That wasn't my statement. There has been no push by the President for a shut down.

Are you a victim of the Common Corpse death of education? There is no enumerated authority in the Constitution that authorizes the federal government to command people to shelter in place or any of the powers Governors have assumed. Allowing 60.8 million Americans to be infected by a virus as happened in 2009 - 2010 should be impeachable.

Here I made a script for him.

"I strongly urge the governors of the states to put shelter in place orders for their states."

Seems simple to me. Why are you trying to make it hard?

We could quote countless times of him saying things very close to that but you would move the goal posts or go back to your meme games.

Good show on NOT understanding context at all even when it was spelled right out there for you. So sad.

Shrug. What is that supposed to mean? Did or did not Trump delegate responsibility to the Governors?

    No.

Why should he say that? Different states have different requirements. The Governors are the proper level of government to decide the appropriate policies.

Advice has been delivered by Federal professionals every night since the Coronavirus task force was assembled on January 29. Communist sympathizers who don't want to carry the briefings can tune in or tune out. Governors can tune in or tune out.

So, it appears that as late as January 10, doctors seeing patients in CA with a "flu-like" disease did not identify the pathogen as a coronavirus and did not report it as such to the CDC. They are back living as normal lives as Liberals allow and immune. Construction workers in NYC got sick with what they thought was the flu and recovered long before healthcare professionals identified the symptoms as being from a coronavirus. They are back at work, immune and wondering why Democrats care so little about the lives they are ruining for a stinking election. Studies are showing that a large number of people who never had symptoms had the disease and have antibodies.

Fauci lied like a cheap toupee today. For two weeks he and Birx were predicting Armageddon this week and next. With the disease flattening, he claimed they predicted more flattening due to shutting down the economy and only when we bring small business owners to their knees will they be happy.

This is no worse than the seasonal flu and we don't destroy lives every year to prevent thousands from dying because of the flu.
