You mean back before racism was an accepted part of our culture? The problem with you and your ilk is that you are dinosaurs who haven't quite realized yet that your extinction is nearing.

There is only one thing that could change their minds, and that is if they think they will not be re-elected if they stick with Trump. It's up to the American people to let them know that. I think that is why so many Reps retired rather than try to compete in a re-election effort they didn't think they would win.

To be honest, I like the idea of the Trump family being rounded up like the FBI did to Roger Stone yesterday. Trump kicking and screaming, Ivanka/ Eric/ Jr running amok

Which definition are you using for racism ?

The original definition or the revisionist definition of revisionism to further a radical leftist political agenda ?

Are you aware that during the early 1800's there was no such word as "racism" ?

You won't find it in any Oxford or Webster's dictionary published during the early 1800's.

Are you aware that the progressives during America's progressive era were racist who believed that some races and or ethnicities were superior or not as superior as others ?

Real progressives believe that by using science you can fix the ills of society.

Real progressives are racist (using the original definition) and most are nationalist socialist not internationalist socialist.

Those hiding behind the progressive label today are not true progressives but are either Marxist, internationalist socialist, anarchist or useful idiots of communism.

The ADDA website appears to be a group of disgruntled DDA's upset about what they feel our liberal policies in California government, hardly an unbiased source. In fact, I don't believe I've ever seen you link an unbiased source in support of ANY of the nonsense you post.

That would be popcorn worthy, indeed. But I think from what we have seen so far out of this administration is that truth is stranger than fiction and NO ONE can predict what will happen next. Any weird or crazy thing is possible.

APACHERAT, remind me where you live exactly. I get you confused with a Bay Area poster. But your knowledge of SoCal suggests that you live in probably the most diverse populations in the world. Fighting in Vietnam war should be something to be proud of though, at the time, as a student I opposed the war. There's a sizable Vietnamese population particularly in LA & Orange counties [many are Republicans]. Pho restaurants all over town. Do you hate those people?

Doing some research the ADDA seem to have started during the tail end when California was the still the Golden State and still great just around when Jerry Brown was first elected as Governor of California in the late 70's and it has been down hill for California ever since.

    Raised in Manhattan Beach in L.A. County's South Bay. (1950 - 1976)

Lived in the Republic of South Vietnam for 13 months, not my choice (69-70)

Lived on the Rez (Indian reservation) in the Mojave Desert for a couple of years in the late 70's.

Moved behind the Orange Curtain in Orange County during the early 1980's. (San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and Newport Beach.

Moved again to the San Gabriel Mountains in San Berdoo County on the day Obama got reelected.

Just a few months ago moved back to the foothills of the San Gabriel's in L.A. County and holy ****...culture shock !!!

Their American native born children being indoctrinated in cultural-marxism in our schools seem to be going Democrat.

Maybe they need to be traught factual history than revisionist history.

You've lived in areas that were multi-ethnic going back to last century. You never did answer the question of why are you apparently fearful of all your neighbors. San Gabriel valley is heavily Chinese; is that the "culture shock"?

I'm not fearful...they are scared of me and are scared of assimilating to America's already established culture, language, customs, traditions and our laws.

Seriously, you sound a bit uptight. There are still majority-white communities [Rancho Santa Margarita]. Otherwise it's places in states like Alabama where "established culture" is predominate. Spanish has always been roundly spoken in California; that was the 18th/ 19th century "established culture".

No, Spanish was not routinely spoken in California.

Before the end of the Mexican-American War, English was the predominant language spoken in California and by the late 1800's Spanish was only spoken in California's barrios.

Remember the "Bear Flag Republic" ?

The Mexican Governor surrendered without one shot being fired.

In fact the Californios surrendered four more times during the Mexican-American War.

But by the time the Mormon Battalion made it to California the final surrender had occurred.

Let's put it this way, the Californios and Mexicans weren't happy campers with U.S. Marines and especially Capt. Gillespie an officer of U.S. Marines.

Actually, you made it about Warren with your comment. "Are you just as speechless that "Pocahontas" Elizabeth Warren always checked the Native-American box to game the system ?" I'm just looking for some kind of proof of that claim...

I think you have too many emotional needs to reject; it taints your instincts. Just about every city/ town/ mountain is Spanish for some saint or another.

I disagree, name all of those mountains in California.that are in Spanish.

Here is a list of all cities and towns in California.

Some that have Spanish surnames were named after Californios who were the direct decedents of the Conquistadors and are Spanish not Mexicans and the Californios never looked upon themselves as being Mexican.

Do you just argue for the fun of it? As I look outside today I see the San Gabriel mts w/ Mt San Antonio [also called Mt Baldy] with snow on its peak and Mt San Gorgonio which is one the highest peaks in the San Bernardino mts. Even Mt San Jacinto is visible due to the great visibility this morning. Looking west is the Santa Monica range; to the south are the Santa Ana mts. Maybe a refresher course in your geological surroundings would help you look less foolish.

California used to be beautiful before the white man invaded. They despoiled the land and polluted the air. People who think like Apacherat did that.

    Do Mexicans count? Or Spain-ish?
    California was part of Mexico.
And part of Spain before. Father Serra, now a saint to pray to for leg problems.

I think Serra has lost favor after all the negativity from indigenous tribes. I'm sure the St Monica statue will be removed from Palisades pk some day. It is sort of strange. I don't think any other states have as many cities named after saints/ sacraments as California.

You mean St. Monica was a slave owner?

Serra was a "good" man, but of his times.

And I apologize to all except :flagcanada:s for "thread drift".
