GLock 20 with hot 10MM JHP is the single most amount of firepower you can have in a handgun True, the big Smith or Ruger revolvers fire more powerful rounds but in the time it takes you to shoot three accurate shots out of a 460 or a 500, you can crank out 10 rounds from a 10, and for the weight, that G20 with 2 extra mags weighs less than a big 460 SW

That was for bear, and moose, in the Allagash Wilderness*. Alone BTW.

    * "Maine’s North Woods are so far removed from the rest of the bustling Northeast, they’ve changed little since the 19th century. That’s why canoeing the Allagash River, a state-protected wilderness waterway, is a little like time travel."

this is the most stupid argument of all

    1) we need to pass laws that only impact people who have never harmed anyone with a firearm to prevent those who rape, murder, rob and steal, from doing that.

    2) those who disobey laws against robbery, murder, mayhem and narcotics trafficking will somehow obey gun laws even though its already illegal for them to own firearms

how many times can someone stab you in 90 seconds. probably 90

shoot you in that time-depending on ammo and magazines, a couple hundred times

He's right on that. Protect and serve is a nice littl w slogan, but that's all it is. Their job is to respond to crime, not prevent it.

They have a duty to the community not to individuals.

It is usually the best they can do, and even when they catch criminals the judges often let them walk.

having represented a county sheriff's department and federal law enforcement agencies, that is correct. Only in rare cases can you successfully sue a police department for failing to protect you and its normally if they put you in a heightened degree of danger in the first place

Do you really think the criminal attacking you will give you time to call them before they'll be all over you. You'll be calling those 90 second away police after they've had their way with you.... if you survive at all.

There was a trend to find a special duty to protect children, but I don't think it was ever accepted by the SCOTUS. It would cost local governments a bundle.

I like the .41 Magnum a lot. I've owned a couple over the years. For backwoods duty I like the double-action over the single action; aesthetically I like the single action, but I still remember my grandfather pointing out that you had to unlock your hand to draw back the hammer on a single action, while with a double action you could just roll your trigger finger through and keep your shooting grip locked; beneficial when in danger of being mauled.

My only problem with the Glock is that it has an unsupported chamber. That's fine if you're running conventional loads; but if you want serious backwoods loads you want a fully supported chamber. There are aftermarket barrels for the Glock that provide that easily enough, however. I freely admit my favorite 10mm is the S&W 1076, the gun that the FBI issued for a time.

yes if you reload 40 and use range brass where Glocks have been used, you need a "push through" die. I found this out when I bought my kid a STI single stack in 40 and all the 40s I had weren't chambering well. A friend who loaded 40 a lot noted "Glock Brass" needs to be "push through" resized. after doing that its fine

So if i call the police and they show up and the perp hasn't shot me yet, they'll wait in their squad cars until he shoots me before they do anything?

and a radioactive created monster could stomp you into wine too. But owning a gun and knowing how to use it is called playing the odds. We get you are afraid to own a gun: as Clint said-A man's got to know his limitations. WE get that you don't like the fact that us NRA types vote against gun banners who also tend to be liberal democrats. but your projection of your fears onto the rest of us is really silly. and I really tire of the dishonesty-that dishonesty being people who pretend that their constant snide remarks about gun ownership is based on their desire to control criminals

Well you go ahead and make sure that you enjoy your precious guns; hold them close to your chest; me, I'll live without them; never needed them, never will.
