You are so full of BS I think you are making stuff up as you go along. In the streets of Dublin, Belfast, and Limerick etc. families where much larger, and some families had to share the one house with other families. Many children had to go barefooted because they could not afford shoes. Some of the streets had communal toilets, the drainage systems were bad and caused disease, and death. There was many infant deaths and deaths of children and elderly.
I myself come from a poor background but my childhood memories are some of my happiest. Which just goes to show poverty does not equate to misery, and neither do riches to happiness.
Please tell me how large families were of economic value, if a family lived in the country the oldest son got the land. The rest either immigrated or remained poor.
When abortions were illegal it is quite evident that there must have been less of them from the size of families. Legalising abortion made it acceptable and now some people talk of it like they were making a trip to the dentist.

Large families were an asset in agrarian times, as the more children one could put to work in the fields, the more land one could farm and therefore more money could be made. There were just as many abortions before RvW, but there were more pregnancies long ago. There was no reliable birth control so each woman had more pregnancies.

Just as many abortions before Roe…what a lie. If that was true….we didn't' need to make it illegal. If just as many woman got abortions…then why did a few use coat hangers….LOL

    LMAO….Unreal.

There was birth control…but woman started having more and more casual sex.

A pro-abort is a person who has a position like you or anyone here that does not want protection for the unborn.

Can you prove that no late term abortions happen illegally? Why are late term abortion clinics being closed all over the country? If the abortions were for medical reasons….why did they need to be closed?

Flawed argument because we look at trends world wide including third world countries

But I just reviewed the Wiki entry on the Republic of Irelands abortion laws and it seems that although you have provision in your legislation for abortion in the case of serious threat to the life of the mother it is in fact the MEDICAL COUNCIL that is putting pressure on medical officers

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland

No wonder your stats on maternal mortality are suspect - who would want to be caught in that sort of dilemma, I worked in a Catholic hospital and even there they did the occasional abortion - in a state where abortion is illegal. And they were very much in the case of saving the woman's life and a couple of times we nearly lost both. But if you are stuck with this sort of oversight then you are NOT going to even want to look after any woman in danger - you would ship her out to the UK so fast...............

Whaaaaa???? I do not understand what Canada has to do with my post. We know in Australia how many D&C's and D&E's are done because those procedures are covered by Federal funding
Now be a good boy and click on the following link to see the rates across the states - it is illegal in Queensland and legal in victoria - given that Victoria has a higher population...........

Who does not want to protect the wanted unborn??

I want to protect them and I am sure most here also do = we just disagree on HOW. and WHEN I, and I think I can speak for nearly everyone on this, would love to see the abortion rate drop to near zero and it would if we had effective contraception and adequate education. Indeed these two factors have been cited as the main cause in a world wide reduction in abortion over the last 30 years.

I just wish the "pro-life" movement would put as much energy into prevention of pregnancy as they do into interfering with abortion......................
