And that discussion lead to court case involving the Biden Administration putting pressure on social media companies to suppress information on Covid. The general topic is the suppression of information by government.

Anti inflammatory drugs (even Advil) reduce inflammation which is the cause of lungs filling up with fluid in some persons particularly the elderly and those with preconditions. They are used in courses of treatment for covid by many if not all other nations. In some cases those medications may be sufficient.

Symptoms will improve if you just keep breathing! What is important is - COMPARATIVE STUDIES. How much faster did it improve? How many people did it work for? Was the placebo effect in operation?

I have to thank you Joe for an excellent example of why we have to be careful about misinformation. Ideally we just bring everyone up to speed with how to think critically but there is a large helping of “world view bias” (wanting to believe something) obstructing this learning

I do see all sides - but I use critical thinking to filter the data

A course of treatment starts with less aggressive drugs and continues from there. All public health and doctors know this.

Good for you. Many people do the same. The success of critical thinking is dependent on as much information as possible.

you missed the rather obvious point. the elite students in big universities dont' end up being primary or HS teachers. They end up with MBAs, JDs MDs or STEM degrees working in those fields

Ummm - no unfortunately not. See response re ivermectin

Sadly there are people out there who cannot or will not think critically

Here is an example, although it could be a troll

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/the-sun.616871/

I have a strong medical background and many of the posts on healthcare are as off centre as this one about the sun

Actually you’re not thinking critically at all. It’s more of a follow the government line of thinking. Who are we to tell someone not to allow speech that actually does allow people to think critically.

I would bet money that if so many covid restrictions were never put in place you would have seen more people get vaccinated. Government intervention in speech made people put their feet in the sand. The real examples of not thinking critically are literally those who choose to limit speech.

Basic A&P with the emphasis on physiology, Pharmacology for beginners and importantly Foundations of Pathophysiology. Lungs filling up with fluid indeed!

Ivermectin is an inexpensive option which can work for some people in the early days of infection. That’s an example of critical thinking.

That’s how people die from covid. That’s why respirators are used.

No it isn’t and you ignored my outline of how to think critically instead going off on some workd view bias about the government

Again I thank you for the examples

    @AFM
Webmd??? A text designed to be “dumbed down” for the average reader? Compare that to this

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8711311/#:~:text=The progression to ARDS in,oedema and – over time – progressive

I can wait for your comparative analysis
