My brother is a doctor. We had this conversation years ago.

The body's reaction to covid is analogous, for example, to its reaction to a venomous snake bite. It's not the venom that kills you, it's your body's reaction to it. Effective treatment is suppression of the body's reaction.

    Focus.
Stifling free speech is not insurrection. Censorship is the topic, not trumps alleged insurrection.

    Nice try, but fail.

That is my understanding of Covid as well. The virus doesn’t kill. It’s the body’s reaction to it.

The President nominates someone for a vacancy on the Court and the Senate votes to confirm the nominee, which requires a simple majority. That's what was done except that in the case of Garland McConnel refused to allow a Senate vote.

They reduce symptoms, but they're not fighting the virus.
    Sufficient for what?

Are you okay? I agreed teachers are at the low end of university grads. Would you like to know why "teacher training" sucks?
So what? Yale grads aren't typically high school teachers.

Yale grads? George W. Bush was a Yale grad.

the Senate would not vote under Obama, they voted under Trump... rules for thee, not for me - they said let the voters decide as it was an election year

Yes. They reduce inflammation. In some cases standard anti inflammatory medications may be all it takes to reduce the lung inflammation whilst the immune system fights off the virus.

    :)

    WebMD:

What Is Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome?

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a condition that causes fluid to build up in your lungs so oxygen can’t get to your organs.

Fluid leaks from small blood vessels and collects in tiny air sacs in your lungs so they can’t fill with enough air. Because of this, your blood can’t pick up the oxygen it needs to carry to the rest of your body. Organs such as your kidneysor brain might not work the way they should or might shut down.

ARDS is sometimes life-threatening and can get worse quickly. But it’s generally treatable, and most people recover. Fast diagnosis and treatment are important.

    ARDS Causes and Risk Factors
ARDS is usually triggered by another health problem, so most people who have it are already in the hospital for something else. Causes of ARDS include:

Sepsis. This is when you get an infection in your bloodstream and your immune system goes into overdrive, causing inflammation, small blood clots, and bleeding.

Accidents. Injuries from a car wreck or a fall can damage your lungs or the part of your brain that controls breathing.

Breathing in harmful things. Dense smoke or chemical fumes can trigger ARDS."

There's more, but you get the flavor.

Sure. McConnel would not allow a vote for Garland. That was strategic because Hillary was thought to be a lock to win in 2016. If she won and the Senate had voted against Garland someone much more to the left would have been nominated by the Democrats.

This is all a layman needs to know about how covid affects the body and tragically kills some. It's obviously more complicated but who cares.

That is not what he is saying. You don't have it straight. A person does not need a medical degree to understand how covid kills people.

Anti inflammatory medications are used in the treatment of covid. That is a factual statement.

I am happy for your detailed knowledge. I am sure it took some time and effort to acquire that knowledge. But I don't need all that to generally understand that the individually variable inflammation response of the body to the coiid virus is what kills some people.

    Copilot:

"Fluid in the lungs, also known as pulmonary edema, is a condition where fluid accumulates in the lung tissues, particularly in the air sacs or alveoli. This can cause difficulty breathing, wheezing, and coughing up blood. It’s a serious condition that can be caused by heart problems like cardiomyopathy, severe hypertension, or coronary heart disease, as well as non-cardiogenic causes such as acute respiratory distress syndrome, pulmonary embolism, or infections like pneumonia.

If you or someone else is experiencing symptoms of pulmonary edema, it’s crucial to seek medical attention immediately. Treatment typically involves supporting vital functions and addressing the underlying cause, which may include medications like diuretics, vasodilators, or antibiotics, depending on the cause."
