That's like saying "if you don't live in the Middle East, you shouldn't worry about the ISIS destruction of Roman ruins". History goes beyond simple stupid art, and should be kept in public display. I'm sure there was plenty of room for their other art pieces elsewhere.

Well then go make some more noise until you get your views heard and responded to. Everyone thinks the 'other side' is full of an ignorant minority when they lose.

Some of the oldest history we know about was public display. Statues in Egypt? You know those things that have helped identify multiple pharoahs/religious deities of their culture.

    The Sphinx.

The Stone Heads of Easter island. (Should be, "The Stone people" since they do have bodies beneath the soil.

Palmyra before ISIS got to it.

    All of the Aztec cities.

    The Carnac stones

    The Nazca Lines

Such a tyrant yet wanted to resupply their forts instead of blow them up and still wanted to negotiate rather than fight.

No he didn't. He didn't want to negotiate. He wanted all or nothing. Which is why those troops never left ft Sumter.

He knew the provacation he was making.

'History' has little to do with what gets displayed on public land. Whether Stalin continues to have a place in every city park in Russia or not ( they removed virtually all his statues) ,his historical place is still assured in every history book on communism . Its their friggin park, not yours and they have no duty to history to collect statue after statue after statue because there may be a superficial paragraph or two on the bottom describing him in accolades.

That is not history. Its propaganda enshrined in metal and marble.

Is this the moronic nonsense that passes for history education nowadays?

No, Lincoln definitely wanted to resupply the forts, not fight it out immediately.

You obviously still either didn't read my previous post, or you entirely missed the point of it.

And I suppose we should have hung George Washington for the same reason? He betrayed Britain, who we were all a part of.

It would have been the British who hung GW.

Yes, and the founders knew they were committing treason, even as they signed the Declaration of Independence.

    Difference is...they won.

    Winning is everything.
