I liked fast cars when I was younger more than I do now.
I had a series of Vettes. A 75 that was a dog. A 69 big block that was pretty fast (~ 150) but not real quick. Then my favorite a 66 small block that was quick but not super fast.
But anyway I think I could make it with the 55K Tesla with 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds and 150 top speed.
I'm not trying to force anyone into electrics. I just don't worry about the down side of range and charge time. I take a couple of 1000 mile vacations a year and I long ago quit driving and started flying. My take is that if you don't want to add an hour and a half to an 11 hour trip you should fly.

Age is the natural governor on the speed of cars. I no longer drive my car over 140 mph either. I am a pilot. My idea is for all Americans to learn the skill to fly. This would free them from TSA and from only the largest airports. They could stop at thousands more places.

I hated having Government dictate the design of the automobile. It should not be included as a function of the Feds to decide auto designs.

Say i want to go to Hawaii. I can't drive that trip. Say I go to Florida. I fly commercial. Say I want to be in DC. Same there. Reagan airport is adjacent to DC. Dulles is not very far.

I suggest that you are relying upon the same "studies" and "experts" who were paid large sums of money by manufacturers to say that sugar was not a cause of obesity and that cigarettes were neither cancer-freeways nor addictive.
I expect for my government to ban or curtail anything that is dangerous to me and my children. That includes dangerous chemicals such as DDT & herbicides, dangerous molecular engineerings such as most Monsanto products, dangerous substances such as asbestos, dangerous objects such as handguns, and to resist entering illegal wars based upon lies.

Again, I suggest that you rely too heavily upon paid manufacture-advocates who insert "freedom of choice" into the equation in order to pull the wool over one's eyes.

I'll take a poverty-free, Democratic, socially advantaged community of healthy citizens endowed with more freedom of speech and more freedom of travel over a war-mongering, gun-toting, no-choice racist, poverty-stricken, cancer-ridden nation on the brink of full-blown Fascism that has the least freedom of any western nation on earth. But I applaud your freedom of choice to obscure.

Climate has nothing at all to do with the above issues. That is just a diversion.

A lot fear on your plate there thing. Do you want the Feds to ban drugs that harm and stuff like Marijuana too? Big money bets the Marijuana industry gives great points to smoking pot. Do you understand how much good DDT did for this country? DDT saved human lives. Monsanto gets a terrible deal from Democrats. Their products were proven safe yet the Democrats still attack them. Asbestos was a great product to prevent fire and to insulate. Even worked on roofs. Look, improper use of a lot of things can harm us. But we do not ban them for that reason. Who lied about war? Bush had the same precise story as did Bill Clinton. It was totally accepted by Democrats so Clinton signed the Iraqi freedom act. The phobia over the machine called a gun still puzzles me and most of the republicans. I was trained by this nations army. Do you think i have forgot all of a sudden?

Manufacturers deliver so much good. But you don't want to discuss that above. Wonder why not?

Where is that nation today? China has free health care. So does Russia. Do you mean their systems? We republicans battle Democrats all the time over speech issues. We fight them to stop making up laws. Laws most have no clue exist but still must obey them. Democrats tell us not knowing their laws doesn't excuse us. Toting guns is a freedom. Almost no people murder. Yes, I know of crime rates. I doubt you met a person that murdered. So why all the fear? Race always is the card of choice for Democrats. They sure spent much of the history of this country promoting jim Crow laws and more. They allege they suddenly changed their minds. If that were true, they would pack away that race card for a rainy day. We are only on the brink of fascism due to thugs roaming the streets called antifa. That is a fake name. They are the epitome of fascists.

When I read the claims made by Democrats,. I swear to god it seems as if Hitler is back from the dead screaming we must have him because he can rid us of the bad people.

Here is a good solid standard to evaluate your Democrats.

Who the hell has bound this nation with the bulk of our laws since 1933? It is the Democrats.

If you want to say the laws are good, why were your Jim Crow laws bad? Why was your lynching of blacks good?

It seems to me that you understand very little about the subject, the thread, and the discussion. You say in your first paragraph that climate has nothing to do with the issue. Aerosol has very much to do with the issue. I see that you are stuck with Democrats and Republicans ...... forgetting the issue of climate change and running in circles playing catch the tail. That is your diversion.

The study I read was done by a cardiologist. He had negative things to say about Red Bull and was not a pro-sugar doctor. You got it backwards. I don't rely on this study. I think it is bogus. It was an old study, something like 10 years old. If true people would be dropping dead left and right. After year go by, study results are not replicated by others, there are no theories about how or why red bull would kill people, and million of people can drink these things without a problem they clearly do not need to be banned by the government.

Maybe so. But I have been warned about the amount of caffeine in "energy drinks" particularly Red Bull & Monster. Aside from that, I just had a heart monitor implanted into my chest the day before yesterday so the possibility of needing a pacemaker is on the table. It doesn't require very much to scare me right now.

BTW: I drank two Red Bull a few years ago and I could feel my heart jumping out of my body.

Does coffee have the same effect? I get more of a jolt out of a very strong cup of coffee than a Red Bull. When I need to get moving in the AM I drink a K-Cup of Death Wish brand coffee. Don't disagree that many people may want to avoid these drinks but I would just as soon keep the government out of the decision making.

Well, if such drinks are as dangerous "as has been stated" then I do not want them on the shelves any more than guns, drugs, and pornography. Be honest, one often believes that if it can be bought it must be safe. If it isn't safe I want my government to ban them.

Clearly you don't believe in freedom.

Here is an idea. Let's limit cars to a max speed of 15MPH. Then no one will get killed in car wrecks.
