What people? Many locations and some nations are already at peak employment in healthcare .. meaning there are no qualified people sitting around waiting for jobs.

I really don't know where you think these people are coming from. And worse, you seem to believe you can just 'bring them in' (whether they like it or not) - which is the kind of thing they do in China.

So you're assuming all those things are going to happen? What's your purpose in working with such a large assumption?

I don't pay any attention to economics in nations where nothing is being done to preserve self-sufficiency.

I didn't say anything about like it or not. I said hire them and it can be done, it happens all the time.

These are lifestyle choices, not epochs. Those who forfeit space and air for 'convenience' have done so knowing that it will only feel like a good trade when times are exceptionally perfect. These are people with unusually high risk tolerance profiles, and should not be who we predicate ANYTHING on - for that reason.

Hire who? When they're already employed (or have quit due to the unrelenting pressure of two years of code red), where are they coming from?

Advertise, see if you can't find a couple. Or we can just sit on our hands and say that won't work and do jack.

There are nowhere near enough qualified people available for the amount of work that has to be done. And it's getting worse, because more are quitting to pursue different careers. Would you want to work at the coalface, under the conditions these people have to endure?

You just surrender without a fight. Now you might not have mentioned vaccines but that is the only plan this administration had put forward and like I said before, it ain't working.

I'm not in America, and I work in Public Health. I'm posting according to what I'm seeing where I am, and what I'm seeing generally worldwide. This is not a local problem.

What? I'm the biggest fan of 'draconian measures' you're likely to encounter.

I have NEVER wanted to just lie down and let the virus have its way with us.

Can't hardly tell that from your posts and nothing I proposed was draconian.

Good point. It may never be over. Or if it appears to be over, it will only be until the next one.

Many people have a difficult time learning on their own. They're not fact based. They often decide to rely on their "feelings" or on the opinion of someone they trust.

We can reach them if fact-based people stop taking sides in the culture wars.
Sometimes insisting is necessary. We have a history of drafting men into the armed forces. But I suspect you're talking about covid vaccines.
What is your case for not requiring people to get vaccinated? Do you expect vaccinated people to allow unvaccinated people to spread covid? Do unvaccinated people have any responsibility to slow the spread of covid?

It involves determining the more likely outcome.
    Yeah, sure.

If we were 100% vaccinated we would still have Covid and it would still be killing people. The shot won't keep me from getting Covid and it won't keep me from spreading it if I should get it. The latest story is that it will insure I get a milder case, not because the virus is weaker but because the vaccine had my immune system on alert. Me getting vaccinated won't save your grandma.

No, that's not why it is surging.
    You're factually incorrect.
    Government everywhere?

Seems as though you've fallen down a conspiracy hole.

Yes, and so what? There would be far, far fewer deaths.
It might stop you from getting covid. It might even make you less likely to infect others if you get it.
    Yes, and...?
Agreed. My last grandmother died 63 years ago.

So, do you expect vaccinated people are going to put up with the unvaccinated filling up our hospitals and disrupting the economy?

Wars around the world never end but that doesn't mean that countries involved in wars do nothing to try to end the current wars
