The fear is all on the part of those who remain in deep denial. Those of us who understand and accept, are not so terrified that we have to lie to ourselves to sleep at night.

Denial is always driven by fear.

Then develop the HC system to deal with perpetual crisis. Screaming vaccinate or die isn't working.

You're aware that the pandemic is also outside of America? That it impacts every Govt on the planet? My own Right Wing Leadership has some of the toughest protocols there are, for example. As do plenty of archly conservative Govts. You take away that it's a "Left" thing is very odd, given that.

I have not mentioned vaccination once in this thread. Not once.

And yes, our healthcare systems need to evolve to deal with the new reality. Urgently.

You can bring people from areas that are not that involved to temporarily ease the crisis.

We need trained personnel so badly that we fire those who won't submit to the shot even if they have been doing a fine job for a year and a half unvaxed.

Then bend the ear of the people with the power to do so.

And word on the virulence? Omricon may be providing more immunity than the physical cost of the illness.

The spread of C19 has proved that Big Bad Governments first create and then spread pandemic disease.

You can't 'bring people in' in a democracy. Especially a democracy which has long since forfeited paternalistic Govt. Besides, I thought you guys were deeply opposed to any kind of mandates?

Again, you got exactly what was written on the box. Had you wanted the kind of response China has to such emergencies, you'd have built your socio-political structures accordingly.

How? How does a democratic "low intervention" western Govt force people to train in fields they're not interested in? At gunpoint?

Yes, so far, fascist methods have failed to stop the pandemic.

Where do you get that totalitarian BS? You can hire people to do what is necessary, that happens every day. No need for any mandates or orders.

Point a paycheck at them and you won't need guns. You're thinking like a Democrat, come over to the light.

That's not the case as the hospitals are currently telling people to stop being hypochondriacs and coming and flooding their emergency rooms with sniffles and the like.

That is one state - and the death toll rose. If you look at the statistics across America the death tolls rose every time there was a surge

    Yet

You have not got sick yet. Omicron has a person to person spread of 4.5. That is for every one person infected they will spread it on average to 4.5 other people - and apologies I read that yesterday but cannot find my source

I don't know why you don't get it--an individual unvaccinated person is statistically more likely to get and thus transmit covid.
"The left?" Antifa? BLM? Do you think they care about covid when they're holding demonstrations (dumb politics, anyway) in the middle of a pandemic? Democrats care more than Republicans because they have a higher vaccination rate, so you couldn't mean Democrats when you carry on about "the left."
I don't recall hearing from BLM, Antifa or commies about covid. Ditto for idiots like the Proud Boys.

Maybe it's time to require vaccination for people out in public, period. Get vaccinated or stay home.

tend to agree, this isn't the old days where people could isolate for most, most live in mega cities nowadays and much more travel is happening due to planes and cars, ect... and it's faster travel

I saw way too many, from our leaders on down that did not know how to wear a mask properly

if we ever do have a more dangerous virus, it's not gonna be good

Eventually, as we develop more effective treatments, better vaccines or the variants are less lethal.

Do you understand the point I was making about the impact on the economy?
