Fortunately there are news sources attempting to counteract the fake news sources. UNfortunately, those brainwashed by fake news and reliant on bias confirmation will probably never see/hear/read anything that challenges their biases though, so....

Being a moderate myself, all I want is news with no bias in either direction, but good luck with that. The extremes seem to have taken over, even though us moderate folks probably outnumber them 100 to 1.

Fox was not intended to be a news organizations. It was intended to be a political messaging operation aimed at the same audeience that thinks ex disc jockeys on AM radio are “journalists”.

Fox seldom ever adhered to any journalistic standards. And it’s audience never cared whether what they watch is true or not. It never punishes Fox (or any other right wing outlet) for lying to them. They just come back for more, and empty their wallets.

But tell them something they don’t want to hear, and the audience vanishes instantly.

Consider the case of Brian Kemp, who was booed by a right wing mob in Georgia yesterday with the Trumpian chant of “lock him up”. 90% of the people yelling that voted for Kemp in the last election.

NewsMax has never been anything other than a right wing screed. It was partially financed by the dumpster diver get Clinton effort. And it played a major role as mouthpiece and amplifier of the false claims about WMD’s that were fed to them by the likes of Ahmed Chalabi, Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Pearle.

After that, they devolved into just another right wing trash blog.

The right wing reactionaries, angry privileged old white people and the bigots have had their national “safe space” ever since Rush Limbaugh went national. Fox just juiced the formula up with pictures! And now, the circle jerk that is the typical day on right wing talk radio is typing on parler.

Many right wingers spend a substantial amount of their day (and get all their “news”) from AM talk radio, Fox and places like parler.

It’s a safe space. Spin doctors, politicians, pundits and activists feed that audience a steady stream of validation. They tune in and hear all the other dittoheads agreeing with the host or the pundit.

Then they come to a forum like this and get fact checked.

They don’t like being told that they’ve been lied to (again).

Yet, they’ll be right back tomorrow for more of the same.
