I'm so glad Trump won, i absolutely LOVE what is happening since he became president. He is smashing the political correctness, hypocritical liberal mob and angry black men who want to blame the white man for all their problems.

Who the hell do these NFL players think they are? They are brutes who throw a ball, bash each other for our entertainment, that is all they are. Their purpose is to exhibit their physical abilities, almost like circus clowns making us enjoy our bottle of beer or help us relax our minds after a long week of hard productive work. Why these idiots make millions and millions baffles me, all these retards should be happy to make 50k a year by playing a sport. WE make them who they are, WE determine how rich they are, WITHOUT US, they are nothing. I guess we are to blame for making these muscle brutes millionaires and glorifying them as if they actually contributed to society. Scientists, doctors, bankers, factory workers, heck, even workers at McDonalds contribute more to society than these idiots. Why we, as a society, make these retards out to be so important is a testament to how America is corrupted by it's excesses.

These NFL players don't know history and ignore facts. I'm tired of listening to these retards talk about how bad their life is and how much blacks are discriminated against. They need to go back to school to get re-educated.

Blacks have much more to celebrate today than complain about. Back in the 1800s they were slaves, through early 1900s they were second class citizens, even in 50s-60s there was segregation. As recent as 90s a black presidential candidate would've NEVER had a prayer to become president. The freedoms that African American's enjoy today are the same as any white person and in some cases, being black is an advantage (affirmative action!). Many large corporations would rather promote a black man instead of a white man in some cases, even when the black man isn't the best employee.

Back in the 1950s or 60s a interracial couple was looked down on, today? It's like the new thing! Back then, black athletes weren't paid half of what white athletes made, today? They are the highest paid! Blacks today can achieve anything they want, NO WHITE PERSON IS IN THEIR WAY. Barak Obama became president for god's sake. All these NFL players should be celebrating the flag, for living in a Country that even though went through some dark moments in the past, has made tremendous progress, progress that continues and progress that is unappreciated.

In addition to a lesson in history, all these simple minded retards need to also study hard facts. Perhaps they didn't know that BLM was mostly based on LIES. From Ferguson to Charlotte, racism was called out yet evidence proved otherwise, facts were simply ignored. Perhaps these retards should be shown facts that show that twice as many whites are shot by cops than blacks, shocking huh? perhaps these brutes should be shown facts that show that african american's commit more crime than whites, relative to their numbers in the population. Guess what, MORE CRIME = MORE COP shootings.

To black people - use your f brain! stop using racism as an excuse for everything, stop being an angry black person who hates white people, get an education, get a job, be positive, obey the laws, respect cops and you can, yes sir, even be president one day! sky is the limit!

Well most football players are not the brightest piece of chrome in the grill. They are blessed with great reflexes and an great bodies, but brains not so much.

and it is an abomination that we make these turds into godlike humans. They are nothing but entertainers, not worthy of shining the boots of a doctor, scientist, teacher yet we make them out to be so important, they are even beneath circus clowns and acrobats.

what does this say about our society that we glorify muscle brutes just because they can throw a ball and display athletic gifts for our amusement? it is a sign of a society that has lived in excess for too long, a society that has lost values, a society that has degenerated and lost it's way. We are bombarded by entertainment 24/7 from reality TV shows to the glorification of actors, athletes, people that simply only entertain, they don't actually contribute to the advancement of a society; in fact, they are detrimental to progress. People don't realize how absurd it is that we make these people out to be so big but the smart ones know why - there is $$ involved. All these sports networks (NBC, ESPN, CBS,ABC) seek to make $$ of covering these idiots, there are the commercials, the sports anchors, the sponsors etc.... there is so much $$ behind these retards that we are brainwashed into believing they are so important to society...

We should boycott all these games until owners are forced to lower wages to 100k a year and tickets to $5 a piece, this is what these people are worth, not a penny more. They are just entertainment and if people can't live without them, people need to go through a serious introspection session, there are many other more productive and fun things out there than watching a bunch of idiots run around a football field.

I'm totally against those stupid protests but I am NEVER boycotting the NFL. Football is my favorite and I'm not letting the PC police get in my way of watching Tom Brady shred a defense. I'll just turn the game on at 1:10PM instead of 1:00 so I miss the media circus of the anthem.

This is why I can't go all the way in agreement with OP, just 90%. By and large these are not smart people, and I blame interests that use and manipulate them as much as the players themselves. There are notable exceptions, but exceptions. Most of them just aren't that bright or knowledgeable. Exacerbating their lack of intelligence is that they are themselves media creations, so it's no wonder they are impressionable with respect to MSM narratives, which are overwhelmingly LW. They have learned that a condition to their celebrity is adherence to LW dogma, just like other types of celebrities. All these factors add up to a perfect storm of underinformed, misinformed, manipulated minds.

However, they SHOULD have enough common sense to realize they aren't particularly sophisticated, and that realization should temper any public displays.

I have enough common sense to know that I would last 10 seconds on a pro football field, if that, before sustaining grievous injury if not death. I also know that no one would pay or buy product based on my mediocre sports skills. Despite significant disadvantages in critical thinking, they should know to do what they do best and leave others to the rest.

Racist stereotypes aside, Does this mean they don't have the same rights as you and me?

It's not really about race or rights from the critical or audience side. They made it about race themselves on the protest side, no one else did that, THEY DID. Leave the brain surgery to Ben Carson and the football to some big dude, who -may- be as smart as Ben Carson, but is almost certainly not.

If one has a social grievance regarding societal racial discrimination, it may be a good idea to voice that OUTSIDE a workplace where one is paid millions as part of a de facto discriminatory reality that one BENEFITS from. They are hypocrites in that a sincere advocate would simply RESIGN and spend time and the MILLIONS OF DOLLARS they have accumulated protesting where it might actually count. Instead, they want to eat the celebrity/$$ cake from their discriminatory industry, and TO HAVE IT TOO by doing the most lazy protest imaginable WHILE eating the cake.

This is the hypocrisy equation in celebrity culture that average Americans not swayed by that culture can't stand and is causing a nosedive in entertainment profit in the social media age. GOOD! It's time for rotten, effeminate celebrity culture to exercise far less influence in the U.S. than it has for the last 50 years, in sport, media, entertainment, the whole shebang. Celebrity culture and worship is WAY out of hand. Our grandparents wouldn't believe it. We need to work towards a reality that our grandkids won't believe it ever existed to the extent it does either.

It's not about rights either. You don't have a right to protest your workplace on your workplace dime when you are a unionized workplace and your protest -violates- your employment contract AND your collective bargaining agreement. Tired of posting that this isn't a "free speech" issue of First Amendment issue.

They question was about protesting football players. Most of the protesters are black as many of the posters in this forum are quick to point out. The protest revolves around issues in the Black community. To deny that race is a significant issue here is to blind oneself to the facts. The question was do these protesters have the same rights as you and I?

The reason these athletes make such huge sums of money is simple. It's called free market capitalism. I would think that those who consider themselves capitalists would appreciate this. Entertainers have always been highly paid. There is a huge market today for watching a bunch nah of idiots run around a football field. Otherwise, they wouldn't make the kind of money they do. Just because someone makes a lot of money does not mean he is prohibited from excercising his right to engage in political protest as guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those who fought for this country all took an oath to preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States. Just as you have every right to boycott the NFL, Hollywood movies and TV shows, these players have the right to peacefully protest anything they like in any manner they see fit. I don't see why some people get so upset about it or so hateful and vitriolic as you have about this non issue. Trump took a pledge to preserve and protect the US Constitution last January. His comments, as usual were idiotic and un American in my book. He needs to start up his brain before he starts running his mouth.

I knew that all that black people needed was for some ranting white guy on the internet to "teach them" all about how good they got compared to the past, how grateful they should be for that status and so they should just **** and keep dancing for the nation's entertainment.

the national anthem is a symbol of those values. One of those values is the right to protest. I happen to think its a legitmate method to protest that the nation's values are not being applied equally to all citizens.

The protest had NOTHING to do with all those brave americans who gave life or limb or mind in defense (or aggression) of the nation. It had to do with the fact that equality of life/liberty/freedom is eluding a significant and visible % of the american population.

I think it's absolutely amazing that any sane person could run through our history like you just did, admit that "As recent as 90s a black presidential candidate would've NEVER had a prayer to become president" and still come to the conclusion that being black is an advantage."

The protestors are Americans, rather you like it or not. They are protected by the US Constitution, rather you like it or not.

So stop complaining because your fake views of "patriotism" are being offended.

I'd also like to point out that the same people who are complaining about this peaceful form of protest are the same hypocrites screaming when a more active approach is taken.

I can see that you've chosen your sides and as much as you like to pretend, your side isn't America.

if you enjoy sunday football, good for you... My issue is how we, as a society, value entertainment much more than much more important things, thus, why these retards get paid so much.

anyone knows this is a free market capitalism but this is why i'm blaming society, for valuing entertainment so highly, much more highly than much more important things. I'm not only going after these retards but also, us, for enriching them.

Free market capitalism here is a media machine which inflates athletes and brainwashes us into believing they are so great. We are bombarded with nonsense 24/7 on sports networks but these people make a living off worshipping athletes and convincing us to pay $100 a ticket, it's all part of a $$$ making powerhouse machine and it works. We are the idiots that buy into it and are willing to pay so much to watch a bunch of clowns run around and amuse us with their athletic gifts.

and yes, they have the right to protest, again, my issue is that we pay attention and allow these brute, uneducated retards to influence us, as if anything they say is worth sh&t!

Trump's comments were from the heart, he loves America and hates how these idiots disrespect the flag and all out of sheer ignorance. I say deport them all to Afghanistan and let them fight terrorists, put these athletic gifts to productive use!

African Americans today are so well off that they can even become president, we couldn't even say this in the 90s. Even though we have had dark moments in the past, the progress for blacks has been tremendous and this should be celebrated. Taking a knee during anthem ignores this fact and sends a message that blacks are oppressed, as if we were back in the 1800s of 1950s! This incites racial tensions and all based on misinformation and lack of appreciation for living in this Country.

Yes it is. It is VERY American to not give your money to protesters advocating opposite your own view. Who is losing it is the left over anyone who does not agree with the millionaire BLM protesters and is unwilling to pay $500 to watch and support their protesting. It is your side that will not tolerate "peaceful protesting," the malcontent multi-millionaires protesting that they have been unfairly treated.
