Did any of those black men gain their freedom by fighting to free the white men who enslaved them?

Indeed.......first he made that ‘anti-busing racist’ Sleepy Joe his running mate.......then he displays that ‘racist’ Betsy Ross flag at his inauguration......he needs to start groveling and apologizing to Colin Kaepernick.......

If the flag is racist, then why did hyper liberal Nike make the shoe in the first place? Are they not woke or Educated?

The Emancipation Procalmation did not abolish slavery in the Union.

The shoes being discussed most certainly are NOT racist. However it seemed that you didn't think that any shoes could be racist.

You do know that hotels don't have a thirteenth floor because it's racist, right?

Calin Kaepernick is a failed NFL quarterback who has parlayed his "victimhood" into millions. His "career" involves complaining about his oppression and cashing million dollar checks for his "courage". In a sane world, nobody would remember this idiot for anything other than destroying the 49er's franchise. Instead woke elites keep pimping him like he is some kind of role model. I would love to see Colin in a room with Navy Seals explaining their privilege to them.

Pro-tip for Colin and the woke elite: courage involves risking something precious to you for people other than yourself; dissing your country and your fellow citizens for great personal profit is hardly courageous.

Democrats did not care about the Betsy Ross flag at either of his inaugurations when they were displayed prominently. Obviously Obama did not find it racist. What's up with that hypocrisy, bro? Democrats are such jokes...

    LOL, sure thing.

President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war. The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free."

It is my understanding that Nike's decision to pull this "offensive" shoe--and it was purely an amoral, business decision--was due to the fact that this would appeal (they believed, anyway) to their target group: which is to say, young, African-American males.

This almost seems to imply that Nike believes that young black males are not only unpatriotic--but actively anti-patriotic.

I am not at all certain that this is a compliment to young, black males.

Correct slavery was legal in the United States before, during and after the Civil War. When slaves looked up the flag poll they saw the stars and bars so should the flag be benned totally and a new one adopted because Colin says so?

Lincoln tried to get Delaware to handle this through their congress but that fell apart then Lincoln was assassinated but the 13th amendment was passed very shortly after so the march was on to ban slavery everywhere.

Why didn’t he just free all the slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation? Seems simple enough if the goal of the war was to free all slaves.........and why did it take so long after the start of the war?

How is it even possible for a shoe to be racist? Are snowmen racist against whites?
