Proof of that is pretty easy.

Just look at all the mass shootings in this country in the last couple of decades.

The vast majority of them were dims doin' the shooting.

You can look at all the shootings in Chicago, Baltimore, Lexington, Etc...

If those shooters weren't actually registered dims, there is, like, a 98% chance they would register dim if they did register.

    Is that proof enough?

I prepare for criminals by avoiding them and keeping high situational awareness at all times. If I carried a gun I would be far more likely to either be killed for it or to use it to mistakenly kill my rescuers than any assailant. Using a gun safely and effectively is a difficult and perishable skill as any policeman will tell you, and I have neither the time or the money to spend 2 or more hours at the shooting range every week for something about as likely as my winning the Lotto. I buy ONE lotto ticket every week, anything more is mocking the gods IMO. I'd really like to win 300 mill. I fantasize about buying a brothel on the Nevada/ Colorado border whenever the drawing comes up, but I don't buy $1000 worth of lotto tickets, and a new Lotto holster every season, nor do I predicate my voting preferences on the issue of legal gambling

All I know is when seconds count the police are minutes away and where I live that could be 30 minutes.

One correction, Nevada and Colorado don't share a border. Carry on.

Your chances of needing a condom might be infinitesimal, but its better to have one and not need it than need it and not have one.

The fact that you expect miracles

UBC is a start. Then you start registering firearms. That does not mean that the police will go door to door simply that if you own an unregistered firearm and it is discovered you face the consequences

How exactly is it a miracle?

It is not a start if it cannot work, or needs numerous other pieces of legislation implemented to make it work.

Universal background checks require universal registration. Every last firearm in the united states must be registered, and introduced into a centralized database before a proposal for a universal background check system can even begin, and such is not going to happen. Even if such were mandated, the registry would prove to be as much a failure as the rifle and shotgun registry of the nation of Canada, which was not useful in solving even one single firearm-related crime committed during its existence.

Beyond such, it has been demonstrate how firearms can and will still be trafficked to criminals, even with registration and universal background checks being mandated and in place.

When you can’t bust a criminal for not registering a gun, there is really no reason to have gun registration.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haynes_v._United_States

“The original Haynes decision continues to block state prosecutions of criminals who fail to register guns as required by various state law gun registration schemes.”

Liberals love to mandate anything they don’t want to ban.
