Ocasio-Cortez declares VA ‘isn’t broken,’ already provides top-notch care

I believe there is still alot of improvement to be done at the VA.

It seems to me to only be a problem in some parts of the country. Here in south Fla., the VA is as she claims, of the highest quality.

Which proves what? The health care is of the highest quality.

 

The VA in south Fla. is awesome. Most of the doctors are from the nearby University of Miami Hospital. I've never had to wait for any procedure and we're treated with great respect.

 

Maybe compared to other VA hospitals but not to private care? If I need a procedure, I can have it done the same day while most veterans have to wait as long as 40+ days.

 

I know that and the same **** is still happening in 2019, so what is your point?

For the most part YES.

Uh because I am a disabled vet that goes to the VA, how about you?

You can only speak for yourself by claiming to be a disabled vet

But there are millions of vets that you know nothing about

But the VA isn't nearly as broken as some people claim, and it does, in fact, provide some of the highest quality care in the nation. So, neither of her statements are inherently false. You just don't like her so you simply reject anything that comes out of her mouth.

Partisan BS is all that is.

 

Pure BS. The only way you can get it done the same day is if it were and emergency. Nothing in private care is ever done under a couple of weeks. Primary care, vision, dental, hearing, cat scan, dermatologist, podiatry, physical therapy and the pharmacy are all under one roof and I can visit all of them - without an appointment - on the same day. You would have to make individual appointments and wait weeks to get in.

VA is a good service.

 

Are you a veteran?

 

The VA is more miss than hit and the bar needs to be raised so those centers who are lacking get up to speed. Our veterans deserve better than what some of these places are giving them.

It's getting better but more needs to be done.

 

Um, I'm in the medical field... We do same day procedures daily.... Need a pharmacokinetics, done in 1 day (has to be done in same day in many cases). Need a CT of your abdomen.. Bam.. Done in an hour. Granted, we have several CT and MRI units in our hospital so we have the capacity to do same day procedures but to say it doesn't happen in the private market is just blatantly wrong.

Even surgeries can be done same day as we have dedicated surgical facilities now. The hold up, generally speaking, is prior history and lab results prior to the procedure.

 

Yup, and I have received VA care for nearly thirty years.

 

Um....that bill was a horrible failure. To get a "choice card" under the Dems law you had to not first be able to make an appointment with the VA in a "reasonable time" - guess who judge what was reasonable? Not the Vet.
