LOL. They can claim that, but that's not what the article said. :)

Wrong again. Sad that some people are so weak they can't accept the truth.

So 1 in 4 troops has seen white nationalism in the ranks? Meaning that 3 out of 4 have never seen white nationalism in the ranks? That doesn't sound too bad. Considering that 1 white nationalist goofball could be seen by possibly hundreds, if not thousands of our troops, the white nationalist representation in the military seems minimal. Remember, 3 out of 4 have never seen white nationalism.

It's not about what I agree with, it's what I experienced. In your OP you claimed you were busy rooting out Klan members in the military so you seem to have had personal experience with Klan members in the military. During that same period of time, I never came across one, let alone any rooting out. Of course, I may have been in a less racist part of the military than you, I don't know anything about your experience, but nothing about this poll rings true to me, including the fact that they used the term, "white nationalist" which seems an odd choice since that describes a specific policy, rather than using a term like "white racist" which would cover a lot more ground.

So no, I think the poll is BS.

Why are "you people" and why do you think I'm unhinged? Agreed. Additionally, not all racists and bigots are white. They come in all colors, genders and religions. That, however, isn't the problem. We have communists in our nation too, but do we really want them in our military and government? No. Same goes for racists, especially for those who are members of an anti-Constitutional political group. I'm truly sorry you can't see the difference and am also sorry I overestimated your ability to do so.

What did the white soldiers say, or didn't they bother to ask them?

The article doesn't say. I heard people say racist or misogynist things but never anything I'd classify as unusual.

FWIW, I never ran into any admitted Klan members either, but like gays, I expect they kept it secret.

The third parties and the various ideologies are so fragmented that we don't know if it's an anti-constitutional group. So for example, any public statements on overturning the Civil Rights Act? Is it the few members left of the KKK? You might have a point about Neo-Nazis but they're politically disenfranchised and thus have no such power.

I want anyone who is capable of serving and following regulations to serve. Yes, that includes racists. Just put them in an "All-white" or all-whatever platoon. Problem solved.

That's what we were told in briefings from up the chain of command, but as mentioned previously, I never saw or met an admitted Klan member, commie or Nazi. I did see one member of our unit discharged for homosexuality. Although he was considered odd, he wasn't a flamer and it was surprising when he came out to the XO.

I must not act white enough, in for 5 years and saw nothing and invited to no meetings. Did have a roommate who had family in the clan, he made it 2 months before he got the boot. What I learned about the different races while I was in is that there is good and bad in all of them and in pretty much equal percentages. Maybe it got worse or maybe people are finding the boogeyman behind everything.

So you are a staunch member of the Republican party? Do you toe the line and march in step with everything they say?

I'm against part of the CRA of 1964; I support all of the Titles I through VI except for Title II. IMO, it's authoritarian and, therefore, anti-American, to force people together or to do business with people with whom one disagrees. There are better ways of handling the problem of discrimination rather than the brute force of Federal law driving Middle Class Americans out of business.

Thanks for that bit of LW anti-militarism, but obviously that single USAF anonymous sergeant was sympathetic to white nationalism and trying to keep it separate from the KKK and other assclowns. Taking off the bedsheet, as David Duke did, doesn't stop a person from being an anti-Constitutional racist.

As noted above, me neither. I guess I didn't bitch enough about blacks, Mexicans and women to be invited to the secret handshake club.

The US did very well before the mass migration of tens of millions of Mexicans. People who long for those times are not evil.

I liked everything but the part of accusing me of being a member of the Republican Party. No, I'm an independent who declares himself a Fascist-Technocrat. In the ideal world, I would eliminate Van Buren's disaster of the two party system, unite the people under the flag of this country and work on economic reforms for financial revitalization of the economy. There's still so much we can accomplish and a lot of it will come with the erasure of the two party disease in our politics.

Everyone who serves takes an oath. Most Americans have never taken an oath. In the case of military personnel and government leaders, they take an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Being a member of the Klan or a Neo-Nazi violates that oath.

I'm no more threatened by white identity than black, brown or yellow. I do, however, think those who seek to divide our nation by race, religion or any other subdivision, are anti-American and against the ideals of our Founders.

The Founders wanted a white Western country, and had laws in effect to secure that. If you really oppose those who wanted to divide the country by race you’d be opposed to the (you know who) supremacists who enacted these policies to begin with, but you don’t. You’re on board with the agenda.
