    what is "essential"?
what is shopping as usual ?
should I go to the store and buy half the food, putting myself at half the risk ?
there are millions of people interacting, daily.

Shopping as usual as in every week. That's insane.

I'm not redirecting blame, rather if there is blame I'm putting it where it should be. This health pandemic became the veil to lift over the Joseph Stalin's in state governments, where you'd think there would be less of those type of characters. It makes voting in local elections more important and decisive.

Exactly. That's why none of them should be going out for anything else!

The fact that they are, is precisely why America is doing so badly in this war.

If you all do the right thing, it will be over faster - and result in far less economic damage.

Every week? I need my fresh veggies and meats every 3 days. I’m a regular at my grocery store. The meat and produce personnel know me very well. You can’t score porterhouses like this everyday.

Plus add my 10% first Wednesday of the month senior discount and I scored more than the Patriots did in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl against the Falcons.

I’m more partial to bumbling Biden. Can you believe his stupidity? Damn dude is friggin lost. His speech yesterday from his basement was pathetic. He can’t even construct a coherent sentence. This is the best the Dems have? How in the hell did Obama put up with this bumbling stumbling fumbling idiot for eight years?

There's a reason Obama hasn't endorsed him yet(or possibly ever LOL). He didn't want his perceived legacy attached to Biden. That should say it all, but Dems are gonna Dem.

You have a problem with state sovereignty? Is there any part of the Constitution you agree with?

Obama HASN'T endorsed Biden because it is traditional for a Former Prez not to endorse during a contested Primary.

    That is the ONLY reason.

    As far as the OP?

I expect the USA to have about 250K Deaths.

About 200k of them DIRECTLY Attributable to Trump not taking the Virus seriously and calling it a Hoax.

And, all of those 200k People have Families. And, they vote.

    Trump is toast. :flagus:

    Maybe legal maybe not.
"My advice to America is that these directives are a national stay at home order," would have been adequate.

More people die of the flu the same way more people die from car crashes than motorcycle crashes. However, that doesn't mean cars are more dangerous than motorcycles, it is simply a matter of car usage being far more common. As for the flu and the coronavirus comparison, the survival rate of the flu is around 300 times greater than the survival rate of the coronavirus. If the coronavirus were to become as common as the flu, the death rate would be expected to exceed 10 million in one year's time. For this reason, we must do what we can to prevent the virus from becoming more common.

5,133 is the US death count now. If it is exponential growth, the next few days will be interesting.

    5,133 now (more or less)
    7,000 day 1
    8,500 day 2
    10,500 day 3
    12,600 day 4
    15,500 day 5
    18,800 day 6
    23,000 day 7

Modeling is imperfect. For anyone interested, I'm using 0.196 as the growth rate here. Hopefully the death rate will level off before this (it should), the numbers don't look good for May 1.

Psst, make sure you know your facts. More people die everyday in the US than died from the terrorist attacks on 9/11. 6575 people die every day in America from other than Coronavirus or terrorist attacks. On Sept 11, 2001 over 10,000 Americans died, less than 4,000 from the terrorist attacks. Last year 2.4 million Americans died. 86% of them were over the age of 76. Today is still 86% of the deaths in America are from over the age of 76. If and when that age drops by 5 years then I’ll be concerned.

Are you 100% sure the cause of death is Coronavirus or is Coronavirus an asset to a life long hinder of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, liver failure or a thousand other underlying issues? Because I’m thinking if Coronavirus was really the cause of death than the average age of death would be greatly reduced, especially in the US where the millennials make up the majority of the population. The USA has 250k deaths every 38 days.

Question: What the hell do you attribute that to?

    Answer: How about life?

You seem to be ignoring the exponential growth in testing.

Report: Swine flu could cause up to 90,000 U.S. deaths

    That was in August 2009.

H1N1 virus' death toll as high as 17,000, CDC estimates

    February 2010.

    Keep believing those "experts".
