In case either of you were still wondering, this is from earlier in the thread where I linked snapshots of the article itself.

I would argue that religious reasons are political.

Oh! I agree but, unless you point it out, a lot of people might miss the connection because it's so societally ingrained.

I left them out because (a) I wanted to deal with them one at a time and (b) I don't have their full names. And if their studies are easily reviewed then please show me a repeat of the test by other people who are unbiased.

Where did I failed? What opinion did I stated without evidence? You haven't even attempted to disprove the links I posted.

    Which would be...?

What evidence you have that it was classified soley for political reasons?

Look if you feel homosexuality is a mental illness then present your evidence. You lost this one

Ah yes, a failed sitcom reality show from 5 years ago proves your point accurately

Y'all are really starting to grasp for the short straws.

    Questions:

    1) What is the rate of suicide in Sweden, compared to other countries; does this have any application outside of Sweden?

    2) How does the rate of suicide among individuals in same-sex marriages compare to the rate of suicide among unmarried gay people?

    3) How does the rate of suicide among gay people compare to the rate among heterosexuals?

The OP is clearly trying to imply that same-sex marriage makes its participants more likely to commit suicide, but I call shenanigans.

And that's in addition to the claims that this is evidence that gay people are all suffering from mental illness. It pretends that marriage was supposed to be an immediate, magical cure-all for the problems that gay people face that have repercussions for their health. That's ridiculous.

One society being more gay friendly in comparison to another doesn't even begin to mean that intolerance, discrimination, and familial rejection have disappeared completely from that society.

Its not a sitcom or TV show. It was a yearly gathering of gays and lesbians celebrationg the Gay Lifestyle that you allege doesn't exist.

There is no such thing as the gay lifestyle, just as there is no white lifestyle

Don't tell that to all the gays and lesbians who used to celebrate the gay lifestyle every year with a big convention.

It's called sarcasm. They're using the phrase "gay lifestyle" ironically.

Every year? You mean the show that occurred for 2011 and 2012 which in no way represented most gay people? Ok... I guess that makes sense, somehow...

    Hey....I've got an idea!

How about people quit worrying about what strangers do with their personal lives when they have no reason to do so.

Don't like Gay marriage...don't get Gay married.
    Don't like Abortion...don't have one.
Don't like broccoli...Don't freakin' eat it.

I think the person that started this thread is in the midst of his own personal struggle. See before I accepted my sexuality, gay people that accepted theirs caused me a lot of existential angst. It felt as though they found happiness in acceptance that undermined what I thought would bring me happiness. What I thought would bring me happiness never did, but I desperately wanted it too. Out gay people meant I was wrong. It was an humbling experience.

Perhaps even a Bumbling experience, lol.

As a Nipper, I did not worry much about how other folks had got their kicks, I was too busy doing my own thing, blowing my own horn, lol.

I was catholic and my folks told me "all about gay people." I knew I didn't want to be what my parents told me gay poeple are.
