Agree that a 2 parent/ heterosexual is ideal but divorce is a common problem. On the other hand, kids who like much activity/ sports can be very happy w/ 2 fathers.

That's the best case of cherry picking I've ever seen. I actually admire that. Nature designed us to have a father and a mother. That's the ideal situation. Can children be successfully raised without that arrangement. Of course.
Is it ideal? Why not multiple mothers and fathers? Why not just multiple mothers? Is a drunk, abusive father really superior to a gay second mother? There are so many exceptions to your rule that it can hardly be counted as a "rule". More like a guideline, with exceptions. Really, the only thing that nature has designed is reproduction - seems to be all over the place as to the need for "opposite sex parental units" at any point beyond conception.

Pete Buttplug is against College for all. This should be good reason to not vote for him. Everyone should have opportunity to learn without taking stupid student loans. It's just strength, not weakness.

Honestly I think y'all are LOONY worrying about what wingers think of gays, either they don';t care or they hate em and either way they are not voting for him. The REAl issue is will democrats elect him. The answer is no. I would hesitate to vote for him in a primary, not because I care, but one of the BIGGEST segments of Democratic voters, does care, or MANY Of them do. Blacks, particularly religious ones, I think are more likely to not vote for him over his sexuality, even if they like him in every other way. I know I'm gonna get yelled at for saying that, but I grew up in the city, with black folks, and gangs and all that good stuff in the 80s and 90s in one of the WORST gang areas on the west coast. I have been involved with black folks all my life, and yes it's a stereotype, but, three stereotypes about them I have found to have a lot of general truth behind them, it's they don't generally like swimming like white folks do (not that they won't, but going to the lake or beach and jumping in, is a lot less likely), they aren't fans of snakes (that's not a personal one but one I got from my uncles who toured 'Nam), and even the ones who are bi or gay on the "down low" they are VERY (outwardly at least) generally apparently homophobic. it goes with southern baptist preaching, and it's part of a lot of black culture.
I've never thought of McCain as being a war hero, and applauded Trump for feeling the same way. I've listened to Guttigieg briefly and never thought of him as anything more than a slicker version of a leftist radical. Regardless of his sexuality, he would never get my vote.

I just had this conversation last night. Is America ready for an openly gay married president? And I think the answer is no. However, I didn't think that America was ready for an African American president in 2008...so I don't have a great track record of predicting the readiness and acceptance level of America! I like, very much, what I've seen of Mayor Pete - and he has done a great job (in my view) of making his being gay an approachable conversation. At the very least, I think he may well bring some closed minded Dems around in their thinking. I also think it would be a great debate between he and Trump...two men couldn't be more different!
