Would you lose sleep over religious establishments having full reign to engage in the body politic? I would. I want them completely out of it and if that means they therefore are not tax on any profits, even though I imagine 99% of them are non-profit anyway, to keep them out of politics I will lose less sleep. That is what separation of church and state is about. Establisments of faith are not allowed to engage in politics and government has not power of taxation and control over them.

Let's keep it that way.

TMK, PP used to receive federal funds in order to provide reproductive health services to targeted populations - usually people below the poverty line in large urban areas. That's been changing, as more & more states try to defund PP services - although there's a question as to who will provide reproductive health services to that population. The various state agencies that have tried to fill in the gap left by defunding PP have found that PP's services are more of a calling than just a paycheck. In other words, PP tends to believe in what they're doing - delivering reproductive health services to people who otherwise might have to do without.

Without someone or some agency providing these services, the target population will probably suffer more & worse effects from poor or nonexistent reproductive health services. I don't know that PP receives any federal funding for body gender counseling, or whatever you would call the body is not determinative of gender theory.

 

Isn't this why Obamacare was rammed down our throats, so the lower income people could get free or low cost insurance? Then why would these people do without? They can use their insurance and visit their regular doctors offices like everyone else.

And the only "reproductive" healthcare they offer is birth control and abortions. They do not offer mammograms nor pregnancy services.

 

Most churches (if they're recognized by the IRS) are tax-exempt, & therefore pay little or no property taxes on church grounds, house & transportation (for their clergy). They are also licensed differently from for-profit daycares & schools & retirement homes & hospitals, for instance. Typically the licensing authorities inspect church-operated agencies & sites less often - on the theory that the church operates the agency out of a sense of mission, rather than as a business.

These rules, by the way, vary from state to state. So in a sense, churches that are not-for-profit entities are subsidized (to a certain extent, usually in the sense of reduced or no taxation on real property) by the state. This is the state's recognition that if not for the non-profit services the church provides, the state would have to make up all the difference - any shortfall between the demand for services & and the supply of services.

 

There are two clinics in my entire state one each in the two largest cities with abundant health care including women's health clinics, there is no shortage of such health care unless of course all you really mean is abortions but for some reason have a need to call it something else.

 

TMK, any federal funding that PP gets is for services rendered, to the mostly below the poverty line, mostly urban population that they provide reproductive health services to. As far as I know, PP (in all its incarnations) has always concentrated on working with parents in working class neighborhoods/tenements - that's where M. Sanger (PP's founder) saw the most need, & the least amount of resources focused on providing families the information they needed to direct the growth of their family. So any federal payments to PP are for delivery of reproductive health services, not for random ideological rabble-rousing about the determinacy of sexual roles in the US.

Sanger figured that middle-income & higher-income families could access the family planning information they wanted on their own - or travel to Europe for a grand tour, or however they arranged unwanted pregnancies in those days.

If a male transitions to appear as female takes hormones has breast and even has reassignment surgery and commits a murder leaves behind its DNA and they run a test it would come back as male and the description of the suspect would be a male
If a female transitions to appear as male has her breast removed and has reassignment surgery gets murdered buried in the woods then the skeleton is discovered ten years later forensic science would say the victim was a female determined by its skeleton and DNA not a male
so there you have it you can indulge in that fantasy of a male becoming a female and vice versa all you want but the fact is you will never truly based on science be a different gender then your DNA dictates

In SC every county health clinic which every county has one some more depends on the population of the county provides every health service for women as PP other then apportion and if those health clinics was given the funds that are allotted by the federal government that goes to PP those clinics could do even more

 

I don't know if that healthcare access was the point of Obamacare. But of course Obamacare is under attack in Congress (has been for 7 years or so?) PP - as far as I know - accepts sliding-fee payment for services, depending on the % of poverty line that the patients are @ (also depending on PP's funding source - if they allow sliding fee by patient income). As for regular doctors - I expect that regular doctors' office in urban centers are like grocery stores - few & far between. Just as there is a food desert in some urban areas, I expect that there's a similar shortage of private doctors - especially GPs - in the same areas.
