Unfettered abortion rights are quite reasonable...

No more reasonable than no abortion rights. It just depends on one's moral premise.

Yep. It works quite well for us in Canada.

The UK abortion laws are not that dissimilar to the USA ones, the biggest difference over here is we do not have such an active religiously motivated pro-life group.

    Key word: "one's".....ONE doesn't count :)

Ya, it is more reasonable, sane, intelligent, fair, right , correct, logical, to have unfettered abortion rights....

I would say the biggest difference is how late-term abortions are handled.

They have a lower rate in Canada which has no abortion laws...

I would say they would be handled like any other medical emergency.

Or are you one of those who think if women aren't "controlled" thousands will go through 8-9 months of the joys of pregnancy for the "fun" of having a late term abortion ???

Your callous disregard for the life of women is duly noted and your credibility downgraded accordingly.

Per the 9th Amendment women already have a right to abortions. Like all rights it is subject to reasonable regulations (yes, that does include the 2nd as well) and the states can, and do, regulate them but they cannot outright ban them or obstruct them to the point where it is impossible to obtain an abortion.

Attempts to legislate morality have always been complete and utter disasters.

Prohibition, the phony war on drugs and the DOMA were/are disasters.

Not that disastrous for politicians though. It is why libertarians can get no traction. The electorate is conditioned to buying into all these red herrings, so the libertarians come across as 2% ultra-pasteurized milk not really standing for anything concrete policy wise.

    - - - Updated - - -

They could if the Supreme Court decided they are not constitutional after all like they did with Jim Crow laws that were once upheld for decades and then struck down.

    - - - Updated - - -

Women are victims and need men to defend them? How very condescending of you toward the fairer sex.

I don't care if pregnancy is joyful for them or not.

I wasn't addressing whether or not YOU cared.......but since you can't address anything else I have to ask...if you care so little about everything why are you in this forum?

Ironic given that you are introducing the red herring of libertarianism which is an unmitigated disaster in Kansas and Louisiana.
Yet another red herring on your part. Segregation has nothing whatsoever to do with abortion.
And you finish off with an inane strawman because you cannot defend your own callous disregard for the lives of others.

Great job trashing your own credibility even further.

    Have a nice day.

It isn't a red-herring, but libertarianism cannot function under the umbrella of an authoritarian federal government.

I assume you have comprehension issues. Illustrating a concept is not a red-herring.

I don't need to defend my callous disregard for anything. It is what it is. As for your opinion of me, that and $1.15 will get me a double cheeseburger from McDonalds.

I have already had a nice day thus far and see no reason that will not continue.

    Not really.

Abortion is legal in the UK up to 24 weeks under the Abortion Act 1967. However, if there is a substantial risk to the woman's life or foetal abnormalities, there is no time limit.

Although there is no Federal time limitation on abortion in the USA, most states have restrictions which pretty much mirror those in the UK - https://www.guttmacher.org/sites/default/files/pdfs/spibs/spib_PLTA.pdf

That some don't have such restrictions means there are multiple laws in the US as I have indicated, and that some do not mirror the UK law which I would prefer over what we have now.

Libertarianism cannot function, period. It is a delusional concept that makes erroneous assumptions that don't work in reality. Abortion is a reality therefore your deflection to libertarianism is a red herring.
Your red herring only illustrated that you are incapable of making a comprehensive point.
Your callous disregard for the lives of others means that you have disqualified yourself from any further meaningful participation on this topic which explains your utterly inane deflection to cheeseburgers.

    Have a nice day.

It can function quite nicely. It just requires control-freaks to be marginalized. Abortion is a reality. Whether or not it should be legal has nothing to do with that reality. Murder is a reality as well, and that is illegal.

Your comprehension issues are not my burden.

Since you are not a moderator and I have not been thread banned, you are wrong yet again. I have no duty or obligation to care about the lives of others.

We had sever thunderstorms all night so it will probably be not as nice as yesterday because I was awake most of the night, but I will soldier on.

And yet libertarianism is an abysmal FAILURE in Kansas and Louisiana and that failure has nothing whatsoever to do with any imaginary "control-freaks". It is a failure because it doesn't work in reality.
Onus is entirely on YOU to PROVE that abortion should be illegal. So far your failure to prove that it should be illegal matches the failure of libertarianism. Probably a strong correlation between those two failures of yours.
    Ironic!
Your callous disregard for the lives of others has nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not I am a moderator. Your failures are your problem and I am merely pointing out that they disqualify you from making any meaningful contributions on this topic.
That might explain the disjointed responses.

You seem incapable of grasping that what has happened in those two states is not libertarian and those two states' hands are otherwise tied along with all the other states by federal supremacy..

I haven't said that it should be illegal, so apparently your panties are self-wadding.

Not my fault you have not thunked outside your programming box. Some people can pretend that they really care about earthquake, Haitian, Ebola, dead rockstars and other victims of the world and might even donate money to help them. It isn't because they care. It is because it makes them feel better about themselves to play make believe. They didn't care about them before and they don't care about them afterwards. I am just more emotionally honest about it. If I don't know you and have never met you, I don't really care about you.

There is nothing disjointed about them. You just haven't figured them out yet.

Looks like you are 100% wrong about it being a complete and utter libertarian failure.

    Puerile flamebait!

Looks like you only read bias confirming blogs. Can't say that is "wrong", just lazy.

Then cite the post in which I said abortion should be illegal.

Truth must burn you like water on witchy

Not everybody gets a trophy or certificate in my world unless they earn one. So far, you are at the back of the class.

Oh I was done with you like a day ago, but was just being well-mannered. I do note that this is like the 5th time you have said that and you keep coming back with your pedestrian non-responses. When you figure out how to up your game, let me know.
