Great movie. Red dog actually did exist and was already a legend when I worked in the north in the early 80's.

I wouldn't mind to pay an extra in taxes for the sole purpose of having more Aussie movies, instead of the US shows and their third class movies....

I saw it at the cinemas twice. I cried both times. Very well written, well acted, bloody brilliant Aussie film.

Yeah,, the end was a bit sad, but that was to be expected.

As Bowerbird mentioned, great sound track.

I am the only one who clicked on your link. There is a vBulletin bug which means that your link does not work. I have fixed it above.

It is a good Oz movie. Nothing like it.

Pity they had to put a Seppo in it. Although the Yank actually worked well with the story, I thought.

Actually the bus driver in real life was a Yank.

Better than the overly violent, gun toting, car chasing Yank offerings.

    American movies are generally crap!

Red Dog is a pretty good movie but it couldn't compete with Old Yeller, Marley and Me, Grefriars Bobby and a host of other American animal films.

There are several places that movie making has reached a fine art and Australia simply isn't one of them.

Shhhhhhh :shh: Greyfriars (to get the spelling right) Bobby isn't an American movie.
