    Well if belief in a Deity is fundamental to prosperity, then the Islamic world ought to have the highest standard of living and the greatest prosperity. But they don't. Why? Because God is not an economic principle. It is a delusion left over from the Dark Ages. What is a fundamental principle of economics is liberty, i.e., to prosper all men need is the freedom to do so.

    To deal with reality, it is both impractical and immoral to rely on prayer to a mystical unknowable, unprovable, entity. However, reason works really well, and to work at full capacity, man must be free to do so.

    It wasn't a lack of belief in God that destroyed Stalin's dystopia, it was communism's obliteration of the right of Man to be free. Creative minds cannot be forced.

    Religion is cool now.. we learned about photons and how the light shines in the halls of shambala (the guy who made the first prism was a heretic..not good back then).. we can uber to shambala now.. self flying cars are coming soon which will save us a fortune on infrastructure.. no bridges or roads required

    The fact that we are born, die (really die), without any purpose other than to pass on our DNA is simply too much for many people to mentally handle. That is why religion was created.

    The 5 arguments of Aquinas are merely logical tricks born of ignorance of natural laws and full of magical assumptions. They hold little to no value today, and they are the product of backwards think. They are fodder for college freshman in their first philosophy class.
