Evolution is proven via fossil records and things like bacteria evolving over time

but like the theory of gravity, there is a theory of how we evolved over time

these are based on science, religion is based on myth

that gravity is real or that evolution is real?

guess you could answer gravity is God's magic force then on a quiz and pass

rain is caused by God crying, the list goes on and on, pretty much anything you do not know can be answered with religious nonsense instead

Earth at center of solar system, sure why not, pass
Earth is flat and only 6000 years old, yep... pass

This is the part where you pretend it's not mainstream on the left.

It's ok, I'm used to it.

I disagree that the fossil record proves evolution is the source of life on earth..

like I said, if they want to answer a question wrong, that is their right, but it should still be graded wrong

no one is saying it was, could have been ancient aliens, but evolution did happen on earth which is provable by the fossil records

life could have started on another planet for all we know, maybe it started on mars and when the climate went bad, some migrated here, who knows

but the questions are based on the topic being taught, you get them wrong, it means you did not understand the topic being taught, that is what you are graded on

Should the idiots that think the Holocaust never happened be able to answer wrongly on history questions too and pass? should they be able to say the Jews killed Jesus and God was punishing them?

Sorry it's a violation of the the establishment clause for a school district to establish evolution as a religion.

Education is going to include all sorts of stuff that an individual may not agree with.

For example, you may take a course in communism. The fact that you as a student don't agree with communism is totally irrelevant. The point is to learn the ins and outs of communism.

The same is true for evolution. A student may not agree with evolution, but when they take a course in evolution they are expected to learn how evolution works.

I might take a course in Islam or Christianity or Hinduism. If I did so, it wouldn't be because I decided to believe in that religion. It would be because I would want to have a greater understanding of that religion..

There are classes in philosophy and other disciplines where one's own argment is important.

But, suggesting that religious answers should be accepted in science is just plain nonsense.

Perhaps you could explain how the answer "God did it" could be well written?

Up to date, no sensible test has asked "How did life happen" as the theory of evolution is not about this.

Wrong. Scientists make assumptions about the fossil record. Christianity'd assumption are based on history and first hand witnesses testimony.

In a science class, ANY answer based in religion is simply wrong - it is a failure to understand the course content.

It may well be that the student doesn't accept science in some way. But, in a course on science, the objective is an understanding of science - including its limitations. And, that's not going to happen by pretending that religious answers are somehow acceptable.

a state employee telling a person that their religion is wrong is a state employee interfering with religion. That's unconstitutional.

    I don't think there's a religion that believes that.
