It's well known that the religious right wing are often conservatives (i.e. people who believe in minimal government interference), which makes conservatives who are not religious right wingers, look bad.

In fact, it seems like most people that I see post something conservative (i.e. "this government spends too much", "taxation is too high which makes things artificially costly", etc.), I later see that same poster post something about "God" or Christianity and believing in it/endorsing it. Or vice versa

What can be done to somehow..stop the embarrassment??? :omg:

Help support a new party (or already established third party) that are real conservatives and let the republicans keep the religious right.

    How so?
This country was founded on borrowed money.
I really do not see what you might be embarrased about? Peoples right to put forth an opinion and relating it to a god, higher power, ect?

It seems like it'd be hard to do that because at least half if not most people in this country still believe in "God", ESPECIALLY conservatives. It seems like non-right wing and non-religious conservatives would be a small minority faction. United, but a small minority faction.

Most conservatives tarnish the image of conservatives because they're also right wing and religious.

    Because:

    1. it's not ONLY God and religion, it's right winger-ism. Being a right winger doesn't necessarily make you a conservative. And,

    2. it's..annoying?

Sounds like your just going to have to deal with it. Its like people claiming to be classical liberals complaining about their label being highjacked by progressives. Its just the times we live in. Im not too big on labels myself.

    Two things:

    1. Conservatism is right wing by definition

    2. You still didn't answer my question about your bias against Christianity.

There isn't really an objective definition for these vague political labels, but based on what I've seen, "right wing" usually means being so anti-left wing that you support tyranny, albeit in different forms than do the left wingers.

Religion in general. Especially fairy tales

It's not about labels, though. Most people who support limited government also are religious and/or right wing (and "right wing" isn't just a label in this context; in this context, it refers to actual beliefs that are independent of what labels you want to give them).

I dont want to give them labels, you have used labels to explain different people. You use "ring winger" (obviously a label) as an adjective to describe people with certain beliefs.

"isn't just a label in this context; in this context, it refers to actual beliefs that are independent of what labels you want to give them"

Im not seeing it. It seems the beliefs are what give you reason to label them, no?

I'm not sure you understand politics.

Or religion either for that matter.

This entire post is convoluted at best. Its basic knowledge that most if not 100% of Conservatives are religious Christians in one sense or another. I don't see how one Conservative having more religion in his make up affects one that doesn't go to church on Sunday, for instance.

Keep in mind that Conservatives on a whole are Christians, and that being so we believe in life over the atheist liberal who would just soon murder our children at about 1 million per year to keep up with their secularist/Satan's agenda.

Incorrect, several founding fathers were not christian or jewish, they simply recognized the civilizing forces behind such principles comprised by these religions. There are atheist conservatives as well, belief in god is not a requirement, its like A.A.

As I've come to gather, left wingers (the extreme ones) want to force utilitarianism to some extent on society. Right wingers want to go so far in the opposite direction, they defy freedom; for instance they hate private sector unions even though private sector unions do not defy the free market or liberty.

Theistic and supernaturalist religion is fairy tale-dom.
