why do they no longer have the right to vote if they are out of jail????

they paid their debt to society, no judge or jury chose to take away their vote.

they should have the right to vote the day after parole is over

Why would anyone pay people to vote?

In Fl you get the right back when you complete your sentence....being out of jail doesn't always your sentence is done, you may have a suspended part of your sentence that requires probation, you also might owe restitution to your victims, and or fines as part of your punishment. No judge or jury has to, in most states once convicted it's an automatic lose, as well as other civil rights, and your 2nd Amendment right...simply for being covicted of a felony. You can always apply to get those rights back, after your sentence is done.

I don't disagree with your last point...parole or probation...because in fact they should have paid their fines or restitution while on probation or parole...they shouldn't be off it until they do

Grapeape on post #11 said "Show me where he said they have to vote for any certain party or person?" Do you now understand my question? Grapeape seems to believe Bloomberg is handing out money to anyone, not just Demcratic voters. Now why would Bloomberg do that is the question I asked Grapeape.

Rep. Matt Gaetz warned billionaire Michael Bloomberg that he may be facing a criminal probe for paying the outstanding fines and fees of 32,000 convicted felons in Florida so they could regain their right to vote ahead of the November election.
Gee, I wonder what party the felons will vote for when a rich democrat is going to pay their fines so they can vote again?

I understand and only asked because is not advertising paying people to vote? The entire election process is paying for votes. Bloomberg has taken it to a new level by hand selecting only registered voters of black and Hispanic descent.
Now in Minneapolis, our favorite Movie stars led by Horizontal Harris have formed the "Minnesota Freedom Fund" which collected over $32 million and has already bailed out people that are accused of shooting at cops and convicted sex offenders.

Closing polling stations.....limiting machines at polling stations....limiting early voting.....there is a long standing tradition of this from the right.

The fact that the republican party is doping everything in their power to stop mail in voting is case in point. The fact that they want to stop mail in voting from you and I, yet actually support it for the military is so obvious Stevie Wonder can see it

Then show me? Are they closing polling stations that aren't needed anymore? how are they limiting machines? Can you show me a state law that caps the amount of machines? I

a number of GOP states have actually expanded early voting this year....

anyway....all those things you listed don't stop people from voting as you claimed...it regulates voting, which teh Constitution says the State can do.

The GOP isn't doing everything in it's power to stop mail in voting...just universial mail in voting...they are fine with absentee voting which has been the norm....so that point is jsut wrong

I guess they need to counter the rigging of districts. The slow down of the post office to stop ballots from being delivered.

But isn't the story that he paid fines for them, so they are now legally eligible to vote. Not paying them to vote.

what rigging of the district? the Post Office said no ballots were being stopped from delivery....that was a hoax.

No, the issue is the criminal probe....Fl Election laws forbids even enticing someone to vote a certain way with money

For the record the OP's article does not say exactly who Bloomberg is paying the fines for.
