No one can have a normal conversation when they constantly post emotional bs.
They are making more films today than 20 yrs ago.

On average, how many Hollywood films are released in a year?

    According to Box Office Mojo

    2013 — 689

    2014 — 706

    2015 — 705

    2016 — 729

As mentioned by Rob and others, the numbers fluctuate, but have been hovering around 700 in the past few years (at least according to BOM). If you look back at the 90s and early 2000s, the numbers were between 450 and 500.

    2017 — I’ll make an educated prediction of 748

My point is, they suck. You keep going on about this but not sure why.

Your point is only your opinion. Which means squat to them. They are doing fine, financially and film making wise.

I'm excited about seeing Black Panther. I'm a comic book nerd and I think he's an intriguing character. The sci fi nature of Wakanda seems cool as well. I am a bit nervous though about the potential for heavy-handed SJW posturing but we'll see. FWIW, I thought SW TFA was pretty good (7/10?) while TLJ was a good movie that shat all over SW canon / history.

Fingers crossed that I enjoy BP.

    That’s actually bad.

They are releasing more movies, but have the same US ticket sales as when they were releasing 200 less movies? Sounds like they are spending more and getting same results.

Btw, most of the revenue these days is due to the foreign market, not domestic. They love Hollywood films overseas.

Who cares who is buying them.
Hollywood is not doomed as Homer is claiming.
And there are many other outlets for movies today. Netflix, hulu, probably a dozen or more others.

Higher ticket prices will have that impact.

OK. Just saw Black Panther. No ****ing way on any reasonable spectrum does this compare to Dark Knight, like all these reviews indicated. NO WAY! Thor looked just as good, but was WAAAY more fun to watch. Spiderman was also more fun. Black Panther was NOT anything new except for the mostly black cast and extremely progressive(at the end) subject matter. Visually, its all been done. The action you've seen before, unless you count African warriors with digital shields as something NEW....was sort of done with the Jar Jar race in Starwars;) Best super hero movie in everyone's freaking DREAMS. You can't call yourself a fan of super hero films or cinema in general to call this the best of anything. It was good. It had generally good action scenes, good acting, a basically good story. Except for one scene, the humor fell flat on me at least. The theater seemed sort of mixed. It got laughs, but it was NOT Thor, Guardians, Deadpool or Spiderman. It was just all around good. NOT great. Good. It had a nice dose of girl power as well, if smacking you over the head with it is a dose. It was more like, LOOK, SEE, women can be strong...LOOK, LOOK, women can be super smart too....LOOK, SEE, look at them, LOOK, LOOK. About the same amount as Last Jedi.

The reviews for the movie are infuriatingly pandering, politically correct, B.S. Its a case of, one dare not criticize the movie or risk being called a racist. Kind of like what happened if you didn't vote for Obama, because HOW could you not...you must hate black people if you didn't vote for him and thats Black Panther. Don't you DARE not LOVE it, because if you don't you're an obvious racist.

75% audience score and a 97% critics score. So even with them deleting the negative reviews there is still a big gap between what actual people think of the film and the paid liberal shills who reviewed it.

    I am seeing it tomorrow!

If it shows an incrdibly brilliant and strong super hero (Black Panther) generally being a bad arse and showing the crazy tech of his home culture, i will have no problem

If they try to mix feminist bs into it like they wid with Star Wars, you can expect it to have the same reaction to The Last Jedi.

I LOVE Marvel movies, I sure heck cannnnnot wait!

Oh it was fantastic and I plan on seeing it again within the next week. The hype is most certainly warranted IMO.

It’s too bad there was no rational explaination as to how their technology advanced so much faster. The people were certainly no smarter than anyone else on the planet. They had an indestructible metal which made a flower that gave you supper human abilities that only one person really possessed...at a time. No super intelligence. Left to their own devices they couldn’t have learned all the science to make use of any of it. Yes it’s fantasy, but it’s pandering BS. At least you can buy Ironman armor. You can see the mechanics of it. But metal just forming out of thin air? It makes some of the tech from Guardians and Thor look ancient. Hard to buy. Don’t have to believe it. Just buy it:). There has to be a little rationale to suspend your disbelief.

I wonder if In the next Avengers movie, a white character said, “oh look, another broken black boy we need to fix” Care to guess how racist that sounds? Should the theater laugh or cringe?

A real "must see" feature would be everyone wondering what purpose you're serving on this thread.

We live in times where the faux liberals would pose as right wingers if there is hate involved, racism involved, so they could quote their own post and then rail against the neo nazis, KKK members and anyone who is white. A social media agent provacateur. I would imagine quite a bit of this kind of stuff goes on from the democrats.

I never paid any mind to the critics and if the film looked like something I might want to see, I would go and watch it, and form by own opinion. But I have never been a very good herd animal either, so...

I just came back from it. I'd call it pretty good, but not as mind-blowingly awesome as the critics said it would be. I dunno, maybe if I hadn't heard all the hype leading up to it I might not feel - I dunno, slightly let down? There's a better way to phrase it but I'm a bit tired atm. Jordan as Killmonger was the best part of the movie. Come to think of it, most of the supporting cast was outstanding.

I liked the movie but I'll admit it, that line was rather cringe-worthy. They could have done a much better job with Ross but instead turned him into a joke even though
he took a bullet for them.
And considering what the movie did with M'Baku - who is VERY problematic in the comics, they could have easily done the same with Ross.

Come to think of it, the after credits scenes were both let-downs as well.
Bucky just walks around - that's it?

It's no Deadpool or Spider-Man II, but eh - it's okay.
