Which is strange. Russia's new 'Armata' main battle tank (new as in still technically in developement- last I saw there were less than 100 to exist and none have been used in Ukraine) was built from the ground up with the intent of being focussed around an 'electronic battlefeild network' that would rely heavily on drones. So its not like Russia has been ignoring the dynamic... The tank or the network not being ready yet isn't surprising. But if Russia doesnt even have (or can't use) its own drones...

Its no secret that Russia has been intent on not using its 'top tier' equipment in Ukraine (naither has NATO), but drones are not new technology.

The USAF is always preaching that idea.

But it never happens.

 

The Russians have drones but their drones aren't very good. Nor are they practical tactically. Their drones are also heavily reliant on western components.

If all a unit's focus, resources and attention is put on countering these drones, they can be countered to some extent. That isn't however a luxury anyone will enjoy in a real war.

nah....that's not true.....I mean Israel for example they really get the idea behind drones but nevertheless are investing a shed load in aircraft.
The only reason Iran is hooting so much about these gadgets is they can't get hold of front line first rate fixed wing so are harping on about the drones. I mean sure they have their place but they aren't going to win wars.
I have a feeling you're mixing up drones with UAS's (being a UAV ecosystem)? If you are talking about UAS then...well...that's a possibility?

Even if this latest allegation my Zelensky had any merit, I'm sure 2,400 of the even cheaper and much more plentiful Shahed-136 would start to seriously tax Iran's own defense needs.

The Shahed 136 can theoretically be vulnerable to electronic counter-measures but its system is designed to be resistant to such jamming. Besides, in practice, for a variety of reasons, this is not a practical option. They are more vulnerable to shoulder carried manpads and missiles. The other models reportedly delivered to Russia (pictured below) are a different story. Israeli F-35s and US F-15s have shut down a few, but they have at other times successfully evaded Israeli air defenses and flown and kept into heavily guarded Israeli airspace for close to one hour before returning to base.

Iranian drones are precision guided tools used to hit predetermined military and critical infrastructure targets. In the the attack against Saudi Arabia's Aramco facilities, for instance, a good chunk of the world's oil supplies were shut down without any reported civilian casualties. The casualties from Russia's attacks on Kyiv on Monday were likely caused by Russian missiles which are far less precise, while the energy facilities that were struck with these drones left few casualties but shut off a good part of Ukraine's electricity. In this latest attack, carried out by drones, no casualties have been reported but Ukraine has acknowledged "critical infrastructure" was hit.

 

Again, It's so sad that You and your country Iran support the killing of innocent Ukrainian civilians.
