Not an exact comparison. Those Flying Tigers were released from the American military and sent to china with the direct approval of the American government. They were active duty when recruited, and this recruitment took place under the direct authority of the US President. Not all, but most of the ground crew came from the US military.
Putin is no one's pal. Sad to see a major geopolitical event with potential for use of nuclear weapons discussed with the sort of dialog one remembers from third grade.
I believe this sheds some light on what you are referring to: https://www.washingtonpost.com/arch...-crisis/54578871-6dfc-4d97-8736-04b91398af44/ Here is the official Russian version: (source: https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1992-11-12-1992317164-story.html) (its 1 1992 article) "Mr. Volkogonov, co-chairman of a Russian-U.S. commission formed in March to investigate the fate of Americans missing from several conflicts, told the committee that: * Soviet authorities detained 119 U.S. servicemen "with Russian, Ukrainian or Jewish names" from the more than 22,000 GIs they liberated from German POW camps at the end of World War II. Although most were released after U.S. protests, 18 died in Soviet custody and "some ended up staying in camps for a long time." Here is an old Rand study on American WW2 pows in Russia: https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/monograph_reports/2006/MR351.2.pdf Bottom line. Just how many American soldiers or allied soldiers during WW2 ended up and died or were never returned from Russian pow camps or gulags we will never know. The US government covered it up for fear of upsetting Russia once they turned against Hitler. All I would suggest is believing anything Russia says is like believing you are the first person to have visited any of the Kardashians late at night. Regards Pete Davidson
Return? We were on the same side. Most Germans never saw Germany again though. They only saw Siberia.
You're right... and nobody forced either of them to go there and engage in hostilities with anybody, for any reason. What's that old saying...? Pick your fights carefully!
Remember, don't believe anything until the Kremlin denies it. They repeatedly denied wanting to go to war in Ukraine just before going to war in Ukraine. When they bluster about nukes, it's likely just bluster.
You said you were sure, so that's not just an opinion. I assumed you had inside information which made your statement more than opinion. But, obviously, you were overselling. This statement is not consistent.
Yes, but we bombed them with Spam and they have hated us ever since! Key word: “Former “ servicemen. The media is trying to make it sound like something it isn’t. It is their right to go fight if they want to. Soldiers understand the downside. You can be killed or captured, and illegally tortured or executed. They knew they were on their own.
None. I just call 'em like I see 'em. I watched the US government defoliate large swathes of tropical rain forest in SE Asia when I was there. It sprayed villages too in some cases. Several friends caught cancer from the Agent Orange. The US sprayed large swathes of Colombia and other SA countries, spraying humans too. Kinda like a chemical version of Shock & Awe. The widespread use of depleted uranium poisoned not only US troops, but locals including children. Madeline Albright rationalized the poisoning of children. I suppose you do too. The US bombed hell out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and many other places, more Shock & Awe. The Russians have done nothing like that.
Hahahahahahahaha...."Russkis have done nothing like that"?? Ohhh...What's Mariupol....Bucha,Borodianka,Grozny,Aleppo, Holodomor, ....should I go on. You're funny....) You watched US govt spray people"??....Also in Colombia and other parts of SA??....you sure? I was in Brazil,Argentina,Paraguay,Uruguay.....years back through my work in the Ag field....I'm ex military...and I've heard of no such things like what you're purporting. Now...IRT Agent Orange ...maybe....I wasn't in Vietnam at the time...too young. If you "claim"to have saw this ....you should be in your 80s almost.....which I doubt you did.
You obviously know nothing about depleted uranium. It is used in anti-armor SABOT rounds in the form of a "dart" (penetrator) because it is ah hard as diamond. Kinetic energy sends it THROUGH just about all known armor. It stay intact as a "dart", passes through the target and continues downrange. It is not explosive. It does NOT "contaminate" anything. The only way it can harm you (aside from coming at you as a projectile at a mile a second) is to ingest (eat) it.
There is no "so you would think" about it. We sent massive amounts of equipment to Russia. We never FOUGHT with them anywhere. We were ALLIES. (Where did you go to school?) Ever see pics of the Potsdam Conference with Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill all smiling, working and meeting together?
So, now you’re introducing the madman Putin hypothesis. That is still one of the most silly things I hear. So, who in Putin’s inner circle are you acquainted with who told you Putin is a madman? And don’t bellyache and whine about being accused of something when you are the one claiming personal knowledge.
The U.S. has never been allied with the CCP. The CCP was allied with Russia and avoided conflict with the Japanese.
Do you have any idea of how insane that sounds? 10 million casualties is just about TEN TIMES our ENTIRE war dead in our complete 237 year history. We would be hard pressed to BURY that many even over several years
