Washington in its usual way, continues to deceive the American people. First Mattis said that the US was invited into Syria when it never was. Now that ISIS has been defeated, the propaganda outlets are trying to show that Syria is in a civil war when it's not.

While the Astana group consisting of Turkey, Russia and Iran are working on a peace plan, Washington refuses to leave, and said it will continue to occupy the North East part of Syria. They use the excuse of the Syrian Kurds, which are only 2 to 5%, and have occupied the 20% of Syrian territory that controls 40% of Syria's hydrocarbon reserves.

This is nothing but theft of a sovereign nations resources. When did we become criminals? Here are a few excerpts from the Duran:

Yesterday’s meeting of the Presidents of the Astana group, likewise confirmed that Russia, Iran and Turkey are now all in favour of preserving Syria as a unitary state with no internal divisions or otherwise Balkanised statelets.

This unity is now threatened by Washington’s failure to withdraw troops from Syria, something that was widely expected and feared.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Maria Zakharova has slammed a report from the Washington Post which claims the US is planning to stay in Syria for “years” in an attempt to occupy and destabilize the country using the ethno-nationalist ambitions of their Kurdish proxies as a flimsy ‘justification’. This is something which was categorically rejected by the members of the Astana Group which includes Russia, Iran and Turkey.

    http://theduran.com/russia-slams-us-occupation-syria-reports-suggest-us-will-not-leave-syria/

Here are a few excerpts from Moon of Alabama:

According to official documents more than 1,700 U.S. troops are currently in Syria. The publicly announced number is only 500. "Temporary" forces make the up the difference. (Overall U.S. troop numbers in the Middle East have increased by 33% over the last four month. The numbers doubled in Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE. No explanation has been given for these increases.)

The U.S. troops in Syria are allied with the Kurdish YPG. The YPG is the Syrian branch of the internationally designated Kurdish terrorist organization PKK. Only about 2-5% of the Syrian population are of Kurdish-Syrian descent. Under U.S. command they now control more than 20% of Syrian state territory and some 40% of its hydrocarbon reserves. This is thievery on a grand scale.

To disguise its cooperation with the Kurdish terrorists, the U.S. renamed the group into the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF).

New troops were added to the SDF during the last days when ISIS fighters escaped from the onslaught of Syrian and Iraq forces in Abu Kamal . They fled northwards towards YPG/U.S. held areas. Like other ISIS fighters the U.S. helped to escape their deserved punishment, these forces will be relabeled and reused.

Thank the lord for Obama's policies. Working very well, don't you think?

What is the common denominator for where ISIS gains power?

Like when Nixon inherited JFK/LBJ's failed Vietnam policies, President Trump inherited Obama disastrous Mideast policies.

You never stop with your fantasies do you? ISIS is out. They have been defeated by the Syrian army, and the ones who were saved by the American forces, have joined the Kurds... and those Kurds are not Syrian, and they do not belong in Syria.

The question is, what in the damn world are the American troops doing there when ISIS doesn't exist, unless it's to cause more chaos, and why has Washington increased its troops in the Middle East by 33% in the past four months?

The other question is, why in the damn world is Washington holding on to 40% of Syria's hydro carbon reserves which it needs it to rebuild its country? So now we not only help genocidal terrorists, but have become a bunch of kleptos as well.

Syria is a failed state that has defeated: Washington, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel, Jordan, France, Britain, and a bunch of other criminals who wanted its destruction. The world is in awe at the courage and determination of the Syrian people, but that's beyond you. Go tell your bosses to take their criminal coalition and get the hell out of there, and then we will see how much of a failed state it is?

I haven't checked any sources on this story but in my opinion Russia and Iran are US enemies number one and two, actively targeting the US internally and externally (worldwide).... therefore it would make a lot of sense for the US to remain in Syria in fact if I was American I'd hope they dig themselves in nice and deep...as far as I'm concerned leaving Syria would be a colossal mistake for the US and Israel.

I don't think we should stay in Syria. Nothing has changed and nothing will change. Assad isn't smart enough to drive the Syrian Spring from the top down.. and Trump is president.

I'm looking at the long term Margot, right now it may look like withdrawing is the best thing to do but Hezbollah is moving very close to home for America, it will not stop. If you give up territory in Syria you will lose a huge advantage strategically as well as the resource that are the kurds. America would be a fool to walk away when it is clear Iran and Russia are playing a much bigger game than just the middle east.

I think your message has embedded in it this message. That Obama so ruined our troops, that even though Trump puts the top military officers in charge, they can't get the job done. So much harm by Obama. Hard to overcome.
