If I have guests over or meet someone randomly, I treat them with kindness and politeness. That doesn't equate to me having to provide their wellbeing and basic life's needs. Not sure how you came to that conclusion that we owed every illegal who illegally crosses our border the basic necessities in life. We don't.

 

ALL pay taxes and have some skin in the game. Forty-percent paid no Federal tax in 2018. Why should these 44 percent get to vote to take other people's money and consume resources for which they pay nothing? If you don't pay at least some minimum level of Federal income tax you should not be allowed to vote in Federal election. Like you said. ALL should pay taxes. People that don't have income and want to vote should serve community service hours and pick up trash or similar.

Anyone who believes these women & children are nothing but sex-trafficking, or drug promoters, are living with Trump in an alternate reality, & trying to impose it onto all the rest of us. I would even offer temporary 1 room type apartment style housing, no doors, with security to make sure no drugs on site, ect....

Neither I or anyone I know, wants "open borders." That's simply a one-liner propaganda statement from Republicans that is a total lie. Democrats want illegals blocked & deported. Obama was a Democrat, & he deported more illegals than any President in history, & as many as his 5 predecessors combined. Trump has failed miserably in trying to equal Obama's record. If you want to solve the immigration problem, at least approach it from the standpoint of knowing the truth, & not falling into the trap of working with dishonest Republican propaganda.

You are completely distorting what I said in my post. I don't want illegals entering & staying in our country either, but there's really no reason or justification for holding them here in cages either. Why not return them to Mexico, or to their own country instead? That way, we don't have to support them here. But keeping them here & treating them like animals or worse, for an extended time, is contrary to all humanitarian standards & agreements. What Trump is doing at the border amounts to criminal child abuse, & contradicts every human right our Declaration of Independence & our Constitution says applies to all human beings. Treating these innocent children along the border the way Trump & his sycophants are, is totally UN-AMERICAN. Trump should be impeached, convicted & fired based on these actions alone.

Trump is considering sending in homelessness task forces, because democrat cities/states only seem to get worse.

 

I believe in a graduated income tax system. There are people who earn enough to barely survive, and they should not be required to pay taxes. Anyone who makes more than is required for a safe & secure living, should pay taxes--based on their level of income. The thing that I find irritating--along with many others--is the number of very wealthy individuals or families, &/or corporations, that make high incomes but don't pay taxes--or pay very small rates of taxes. I feel the taxes we in the middle class pay, go largely toward protecting the extreme lifestyles of these ultra-wealthy people &/or corporate executives. I don't feel comfortable with that.
