Define how he is a "witness" in the "case."

Not my fault you don't know about his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Nice dodge... Are you doing to claim that anyone in our Government that ever met with a Russian should be deemed a "witness"?

Nice strawman. Pay attention, and it isn't a dodge.

There is an investigation going on. He was given a subpoena by the Senate Intelligence Committee to testify as a witness. If a judge presiding over a court case was also called to testify as a witness in the case, he would no longer preside over the case.

Sessions knows far more about the law than you do. He did the right thing by recusing himself.

I did not realize this forum section also included fictional writing.

TC please offer sources proving that all this Sessions bashing is an elaborate plan by Trump to trick the Democrats.

So far none has been provided, so your theory is completely fruitless.

So far there is only proof of the opposite,

If you're theory in some world is somehow true, it backfired immensely.

Who would be paying? Document your claim (you won't because you made it up).

I never stated Durbin's claims were correct. So no such offering is required of me.

I simply stated the TC's theory of "Trump's sessions bashing is all a ruse to trick the Democrats" is currently pure fiction until citation and sources are given.

Sources only show the opposite of the TC's theory,

It's not a ruse. It's just Trump being Trump. Until shown otherwise.

He answered questions during a CONFIRMATION hearing he was not "testifying" as part of an investigation.

    So?

Trump is attacking Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, not for investigating White House leakers, or trying to push the White House manufactured distraction regarding the provious administration.

Trump waited five months before he started complaining about Session's recusal too.

Which, given the Don Jr e-mails, and the Enigmatic Mr Kushner, suggest that Mueller may be getting uncomfortably close.

Of course, what made the Clown Prince really mad was when they started looking into money laundering, which has been the life's blood of the Trump Organization for a decade. (and why he has worked so hard to conceal his finances from you).

So Sessions starts an investigation into Trump's own White House staff. That'll be great for their already cheery morale, and I'm sure it will inspire loyalty.

He can't investigate Susan Rice. She had the legal authority to unmask anyone she chose to.

Only a few die hard Trumpsters are still trying to pretend taht the Russians didn't launch a major campaign to influence the US election, or that they eventually decided to boost Trump. We already know from his own written admission that Donald Trump Jr thought it was a swell idea, and evidently so did Kushner and Manafort. Kushner's heavily parsed statement does not remove that doubt and Manafort's attempts to avoid being subpoenaed don't either.

I doubt anyone would pay for the bull **** he routinely post, which leaves the former as the explanation for his unhinged posting.

She did not have the legal authority to leak or to give the information to others to leak.

He testified before the committee investigating Russian interference in our elections in June in response to a subpoena he received.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/13/us/politics/jeff-sessions-testimony.html

He was CONFIRMED as Attorney General and had his confirmation hearings in February.

TC, please provide sources for your claim of this being a charade.

So far dozens of news reports over this last week (from both republicans and democrats) strongly suggest there is no elaborate charade by Sessions and Trump.

Not one report or released data shows otherwise. Why should anyone take your OP as anything but fiction?

No ****, Sherlock. He recused himself in March. The day after the news broke from Wapo that he didn't confess to his communications with Russians during his confirmation hearing. He knew in February he was going to recuse himself because he was going to be a witness and have to testify. That's why he recused himself in March. Everyone except Trump and his loyal fan base knew recusing himself was the right thing to do, including Trump loyalists Giuliani and Gingrich. And they know far more than you do.

You didn't even know he testified as part of the investigation until I told you. Now you're trying to backpedal.

You will do anything to hold the water of a man who wouldn't give you the time of day. Just go baa baa somewhere. This is pathetic to watch.

However, if Sessions were fired, the recess appointed AG would fire Mueller, which Sessions will not do.

The Deputy AG could fire him at any time.. There does not need to be this new wacked out conspiracy about recess appointments.

Exactly. I am a Sessions fan as Senator (I voted for him back when I lived in AL). I'm not particularly a fan as AG (I'm against civil forfeiture the way the feds used to implement it, which Sessions wants to go back to (it was changed in 2015)), but I do think that Sessions is a professional and ethical man as a lawyer, and was right to recuse himself. If Trump removes him, and Mueller is fired by the next AG, Trump should be impeached.

Yes, but the Deputy AG is not going to do so, as the Deputy AG was the one that appointed him. Now, maybe the new Deputy AG might be the man to take the hit. The thing is, Nixon did almost the exact same thing with the special prosecutor in terms of Watergate. It's not a good thing to see history start to repeat itself. Trump is an incompetent crook with a big mouth.

What guy claimed Mueller isn't investigating Trump? What on Earth are you babbling about and what does it have to do with what we're talking about?

Sessions recused himself because he was told that he would be called to testify because the Wapo story contradicted claims he made in his confirmation hearings.
