Seriously... this is heartwrenching. All politics aside, everybody needs to listen to this.

It's so weird that Trump was able to create this problem back during the Obama years and managed to build these detention centers right under his nose.

The jails are filled with innocent people waiting to be convicted so they can be sent to prison.

A variety of sources Indicate that the precentage varies widely by district and judge to the point of being almost entirely arbitrary. For intance in atlanta almost 90% are turned down while in New York almost 75% are approved.

And that makes children safe... how?

Don't bother responding. I'm sure you won't even understand why I'm asking that.... You would need to understand the situation, and Trump loyalists are not known for actually understanding anything

Maybe if you were to explain why your question is relevant...

But no, I don't think you will. It's one of those lefty things that lefties do. They have some bizarre ideas, but to actually write them down so that people might have some inkling as to what they're on about just isn't in the DNA.

Here is Obama’s answer. Funny how all the whiners never said anything.

Ordinary Americans now reject obvious election cycle Fake News attacks. Did you cry a river for children and their families in 2014? Or not?

"In fiscal 2011, ORR had 53 shelters that housed 6,560 kids. By 2013, there were 80 shelters with nearly 25,000 unaccompanied children. The surge was so unexpected that when it first began, the feds temporarily put hundreds of kids in emergency dormitories at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. According to a report from the Women’s Refugee Commission, “the facility looked and felt like an emergency hurricane shelter.” As recently as May, shelters in South Texas were so crowded that ORR was sending hundreds of kids to Lackland, which has room for 1,000."

"What happens to the children, I asked Jackson, once they go off ProBAR’s radar? “I don’t have data,” she told me, shaking her head. “I don’t know that anyone does.”"
MOTHER JONES, 70,000 Kids Will Show Up Alone at Our Border This Year. What Happens to Them?,
Officials have been stunned by a “surge” of unaccompanied children crossing into the United States., IAN GORDONJULY/AUGUST 2014 ISSUE.

The have been granted temporary asylum by being in this country. They are free from the harm they fear and that made them come here. They are assumed to qualify for permanent asylum until it is proven that they don't.

permanent asylum is not a fall back position. This is not how things work. You apply for asylum, and then hope we take you seriously. However, this isn't the obvious problem with your idea. Mexico is a fine country where people are free to apply for asylum. No Mexican nationals need apply because Mexico is a fine country. People from other countries where asylum might be considered have to teleport past Mexico, which is physically impossible.

Sorry, but we don't have star trek teleporters just yet.

Separating children from their parents is abuse! You actually believe playing a Disney movie compensates for anything you put a child through?

    Insane!

Because they value whatever they're doing more than their children having parents. It's more important for them to cheat and steal and break in then it is to be good parents.

    I'd say it's pretty damned self-centered.

We separate children from parents all the time. You’ve never claimed it to be child abuse until now. Why is that?

Another one of those questions they simply refuse to answer.

Honestly, this is getting boring. It was fun back when they were actually trying to defend their positions, but now... I honestly think they just gave up debating years ago. After so many years of getting pounded into the sand, they just want to sit on the sidelines and shriek nonsensical garbage.

I’m sure the Blogojevich children cried when their daddy went to prison for selling Barack Obama’s senate seat. I guess that’s now child abuse?

They're not being persecuted which are the terms for asylum. The existence of cartels are not the grounds for asylum.
Do you want to share with the class the terms for asylum?

Liked that Benecio del Toro movie eh?

    Calm down.

Of course I'm not morally outraged. Only the people trying to use this as a political club, and the stupid, take the approach you're arguing for.

Children are being smuggled, raped, forced to join gangs, sent to forced labor, are carrying drugs, or are already members of violent gangs as they come across the border.

What people like you are doing, in reality, is supporting their human suffering by allowing people to exploit them to gain entry to the US, to sexually abuse them, and to fund the cartels and gangs they pay to be smuggled across the border, and allowing the violent ones to come in and kill our own people.

Take your nonsense somewhere else, because frankly I'm disgusted anyone could present an argument so disgustingly horrible.
