If we keep our Constitution, I don't either. If we allow 'religion' to rule others (at all), then we set up an environment where religious tyranny (the worst type of it) may surely get a foothold.

I agree; they are seriously misguided.

If you're not aware that the last sentence you wrote fits Islam to a T, then you must not know too much about Islam. The fact that it is 100% intolerant of the basic freedoms of others is exactly why it shouldn't exist.
Ever read sura 4:34 of the Koran ?

Actually I'd go one step further and ban all religions in the USA. Its obvious that most, if not all of them cannot learn to get along.

It may be crude. Which will, I know, offend your sense of sophistication.

But it is no cruder than banning Islam in the US.

Rather than be sorry, you might try becoming informed. Try this on for size.

Stealth Jihad is THE method of operation of the Muslim Brotherhood as was revealed in the 1991 Explanatory Memorandum...for North America, discovered by the FBI in 2005, and declassified in the Holy Land Foundation, Hamas terrorist funding trial in 2007 & 2008.

The key words from it are :

"The process of settlement [of Islam in the United States] is a "Civilization-Jihadist" process with all that the word means. The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood in North America] must understand that all their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" their miserable house by their hands, and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated, and Allah's religion is made victorious over all religions."

Mohamed Akram, "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America" May 22, 1991, Government Exhibit 003-0085, United States vs. Holy Land Foundation, et al.

If anybody would be looney enough to try to refute this, the US Justice Dept. is the source of the information, and they will back it up. So will the 5 or 6 Muslim Brotherhood leaders convicted in the trial, and now rotting in prison, for the rest of their lives.

Banning Islam is not crude at all. It is conformance with the US Constitution and US law.

I realize that people are "HUMAN". I know that some PEOPLE (human beings) who are Islamic are intolerant... but that is true of certain Christian people and others as well. People can 'believe', but they do not have the right to step upon the rights of others. That is how things are defined here... and this being a pluralistic society, it would be more than prudent to MAINTAIN SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE; a simple idea which is the most excellent guarantee of liberty and freedom.

I've read INTOLERANT and BIGOTED ideas from MANY religions. If not for this nation's Constitution, I think that Christianity in the present day would be horrendous; tyrannical beyond belief.

Whatever, but Christianity isn't the TOPIC of the thread. Islam is. As for some Christians being intolerant vs some Muslims being intolerant that really is a bit of a change of the subject. The essence of this thread and OP is that Islamic doctrine makes Islam totally intolerant. That's not the case with Christianity.

You mean your interpretation of them.

And I thought your Constitution guaranteed freedom of religion? A right taken advantage of by people a lot loonier than Muslims.

    The Mormons for starters.

That are the same crap, rubbish. A thing for weak minds and a way to control the people and give power to a few. A danger for the society and world.

Bad analogy. The CIAers weren't trying to overthrow the Iranian government, and didn't issue reams of documents making such a case, like the Muslim Brotherhood has done. Note that the Muslim Brotherhood isn't just one small organization is America. They consistent of a core group + hundreds of front organizations as designated by the US Justice Dept.

So convict the radical leaders that want to blow up the US. If they know who they are, they can use their un-constitutional PATRIOT Act and nail them.

And as I said, they have good reason to be very angry with us. We are constantly meddling with them, bombing their land and killing their children and wives!

No reason to ban Islam just because some radicals are associated with it.

You thought wrong. No, it does not "guarantee" freedom of religion. It only guarantees it IF the religion (and it's even highly debateable if Islam even is a religion) does not put itself supreme over the Constitution. Well, take one guess what Islam does.

BTW, the highly overrated 1st amendment (as younger Americans have become programmed to) actually has lots of exceptions to it. Just take freedom of speech for instance. Lots of exceptions > slander, libel, perjury, sedition, fighting words, inciting a riot, etc. All illegal.

I'm NOT going along with the STUPID premise, laced into or inferred throughout the OP (sorry). Christianity is as good as ANY (in a social sense) to compare to Islam. There are more than a few parallels within the various THEISTIC religions of the world, that we can reasonably refer to one in understanding the other.

Is it fear, ignorance or intolerance which causes you to insist upon targeting Islam as you apparently intend to do? :(

I think I explained it well-enough above. And if we are talking about the U.S.A., then there are plenty of religious views/mindsets to go around (many of which are QUITE INTOLERANT). And that is almost exactly WHY I ENCOURAGE MAINTAINING SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE (above virtually all else).

Sorry, you have not proven that is "true"; that is your opinion. Still, I'm a Christian, and I can show you how MANY people's Christian "doctrine"... should not be anywhere near the power or influence of Government. We'd be far better off not allowing that.

    We disagree.

How the hell do I know, but I'm talking about Muslims and Muslim supremacist doctrine in the USA , not the CIA anywhere.

Even on the premise that Islam is not a religion, but a political ideology, since when is it OK to go around banning political ideologies?

Seriously, why not just turn the USA into a Christian Dictatorship?

In New Jersey where a Muslim woman was refused a restraining order by a judge who used her husband's religious beliefs (Sharia law) to make his decision.

In Orlando Florida, where a woman (Lina Morales) was fired from a Muslim owned company fro cringing a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich to work. She had been previously reprimanded for having a frozen pizza with Canadian bacon & sausage.

In Minnesota, where taxi drivers have refused rides to blind people with guide dogs. Also refused anyone with a dog and people carrying alcoholic beverages.

In Michigan, where students at the University if Michigan paid tuition raises, so that Muslims could have footwashing basins and prayer rooms, which the University spent thousands of dollars on.

In New York City, where traffic has to be halted, and massive traffic jams occured (in multiple locations) due to crowds of Muslims praying outside mosques.

There's a few examples. There are many more.

It is intolerance of intolerance (AKA the Koran). Question might be > would you tolerate that intolerance ? If so why ? (especially when it is violation of basic US law).

You may find some religious views that are, as you say, quite intolerant. I don't know which ones you're talking about, but I can certainly tell you that Christianity and Judaism don't compare at all with the intolerance of Islam.

Since 1789, when the Constitution was written, including the Supremacy clause.
And Christianity has nothing to do with it.

End all religions. They are all an assault on reason and individuality.

But if you want to allow one, you have to allow them all. Not just Christian terrorists who bomb abortion clinics, protest funerals and burn crosses in people's front lawns.
