Thank you for this very thoughtful, helpful, and enlightening story! It really hits the nail on the head.

People will most always tend to criticize their neighbor and others as a means of not looking at themselves properly and their own shortcomings and not wanting to accept who they truly are.

Along those lines of what you are speaking about in not understanding LGBT people, this story is likewise of interesting note.

That is quite incorrect. People have always tried to use inappropriate Scripture to try to justify their hate, intolerance, and prejudice against Gays and Lesbians. What they don't understand is the harm they are doing not only to others but to themselves in the process. We need turn to no one else but Jesus Christ to find that He said literally Not One Word Against Homosexuality. And since He is omniscient, He obviously knew that people are born with a same-sex orientation therefore, it cannot be sinful. What is sinful is promiscuity. But that applies to both Gays and Straights, however, and not to just one sexual orientation. And God also did not make homosexuality a sin. If He had He would have had an Eleventh Commandment prohibiting it. Clearly, He did not.

Leviticus and other Scriptures that people often cite in defense of discrimination against Gays and Lesbians is actually talking about other things but not about homosexuality. But again, misguided people with prejudice will use inappropriate Scripture to continue to belittle and scorn otherwise great people who are of a same-sex orientation. But there is nothing wrong with their orientation. That is how one is born. The reason that has not been more openly proclaimed in the world is due to the fear in those doctors and scientists who already know that to be so, that they could very well lose their jobs if they brought those findings into the open. That is why they have remained uncomfortably silent. That is sad as it has caused so much unnecessary pain for so many millions of otherwise good-hearted, innocent people world-wide.

It is also noteworthy that I also went through about five years of wondering if the being of light of NDE fame could perhaps be Satan/ The Devil…. masquerading as an angel of light?!

I am also ashamed that it took me so long to get that question sorted out as well?!

It is some consolation to note that many other Christians are going through the same challenging process.

    http://www.christianforums.com/t7647330/

Do you believe that some NDE accounts fit with scripture?

Yes, I believe that some NDE accounts are genuine meetings with the Messiah or angels. 7…... 29.17%

Maybe but perhaps some NDE accounts are of a meeting with Satan?! 6 ……………………….25.00%

No, the near death experience accounts are mostly false and misleading. 9 ……………………….37.50%

I don't know enough about this subject yet to express an opinion?! 3 ………………………….....12.50%

Hi Dennis! I am glad that you have addressed your question to me as I have significant knowledge about NDEs and Afterlife matters having studied in those areas for a significant amount of time. I have several certifications in related matter and welcome discussions having to do with that subject.

With regard to your question about Satan and his possible masquerade as an angel of light, while that is certainly possible, God has told us in Scripture to always Test the Spirit! That should always be done when in doubt or when confronted with a situation such as this. One tests the spirit by directly asking the entity, with authority, if they come from God. The spirit must answer truthfully when you command it In the Name of Jesus Christ. Any spirit that is there for deceptive purposes must be promptly dismissed as it is not there for your highest or best good or that of all concerned. Dealing with spirits is never recommended especially to the novice person. There are many precautions that should be taken and most people are not well versed in knowing what to do or say in such situations.

In studying the results of that polling that was done on NDEs, I can see that there is a majority of people who appear to be quite skeptical of the possibility that a NDE exists in relation to or correlation with Scriptural teachings. That is not surprising given the current climate where preachers and other skeptics on this matter would tend to sway their audiences and parishioners from accepting the possibility for such existence to an outright denial of it. That is deemed unfortunate. There is literally volumes that I could discuss on this alone giving accounts, facts, data, studies, etc. that would surely sustain the belief quite unequivocally that NDEs are real and that they have happened not only to people in this country but to people in literally every nation in the world and continues to happen.

Most people are quite literally afraid of their own shadow, that much is known. They would be hard-pressed to believe in UFOs let alone in NDEs (Near-Death Experiences.) However, facts are facts as have been presented to us by leading world authorities on this subject matter. Many learned professional people have had personal NDEs happen to them so they speak from personal experiences that a NDE is quite valid and they go on to present proof of that. We need go no father than to Dr. Eben Alexander, a neurosurgeon (Harvard) who had a very profound NDE. The information he has shared with us is quite remarkable.

Neuroscientist Sees 'Proof of Heaven' in Week-Long Coma
    http://abcnews.go.com/Health/neuroscientist-sees-proof-heaven-week-long-coma/story?id=17555207

Another, is the story of a four year old boy named Colton Burpo who had surgery and who later revealed much information about Heaven that he could not have possibly known about.

    Heaven Is for Real
    http://heavenisforreal.net/

There are many other examples that are quite remarkable but that would take too long to go into here. Suffice it to say that when people have a NDE they are most likely comatose or in a condition where they are bedridden and could not possibly know what is going on around them in the room much less outside of the room. But what science has found is that in many cases a person who is unconscious therefore not able to know things going on around them or be able to hear things, have actually come back to tell us of things they saw not only in their room such as what the doctor was wearing, people who came into the room etc. but they were also able to tell us what happened on other floors in the hospital they were in! How could they know that? Well, they did and went on to describe it with great accuracy. One such case comes to mind where the patient was declared clinically dead but later was resuscitated and recovered to later say they had seen a pair of sneakers sitting on the outside ledge of the hospital in a floor way above where they were at. It was later verified to be true and just the way they described the shoes they could not have possibly seen physically. That's Remarkable!

So, the explanation is that consciousness and the mind exist separately from the body and the brain. Therefore, when a person is in a comatose state their spirit often detaches temporarily from their body and goes to different places where it picks up this information that the person later is able to discuss when they awaken from their illness.

Again, there are volumes and volumes to discuss on this matter alone but suffice it to say that there are things that people who adhere strictly to Scriptural teachings are sadly missing because they do not keep an open mind to the possibility of the existence of such things. Sadly, they let others do their thinking for them. Therefore, they will never learn about NDEs until such a time as they find themselves actually experiencing one or several of them and then they come back to say 'Oh,It's Real! It really happens! It does exist!' But if it all depends on empirical evidence in order for them to believe then it is as difficult an exercise as believing in God could be for some simply because they cannot see Him. Yet He does very much exist, by the way, and I have great proof of that in what He has done for me.

I am so glad to see a genuine NDE expert here on PoliticalForum.com.

I am fascinated by this topic. I read "Heaven is for Real" several months ago and have read a couple of other articles on Dr. Eben Alexander.

Here is another one of the discussions that I began on NDE's that you will enjoy:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/relig...accounts-transform-psychiatry-psychology.html

Will near death experience accounts transform psychiatry and psychology?

Psychology Today has devoted more attention to this possibility over the past twenty five years than you might imagine.

    Dennis,

I am firmly convinced you could make some "connection" between NDEs....

There are no Scriptures in the Holy Bible that support reincarnation. That is primarily an Eastern belief that is not embraced in any way in the Christian Holy Bible. As to the belief on the part of some that Moses and Elijah reincarnated, that is incorrect. Jesus merely called them forth with His Divine power and they were thus, resurrected for that period of time from Heaven by Jesus.

The Bible is very clear that we do have only ONE chance and it is in this life. That means we don't come back as another person time and time again to continue sinning until we get it right. We have one chance to save ourselves by requesting Salvation through Jesus Christ and if we do not take advantage of His immensely kind offer to save ourselves thus, our soul and spirit when we pass on, then God will be the final judge of where those who did not become Born Again or Saved will end up.

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" -- HEBREWS 9:27 (KJV)

Here is an excellent report by Leon L. Combs, Ph.D. explaining this matter further so that all can understand what you are now facing and how to save yourself.

But that doesn't NECESSARILY "deny reincarnation".

Those who believe in reincarnation accept that YOU... as you are... DO "die only once"....you "the Chairman" WILL die only once and face a judgement.

That judgement then may be to return to Earth as a butterfly....or a baby girl in a remote village of Tibet......or the son of a Swiss millionaire.....or a platypus outside of Melbourne.

And those incarnations will "die only once"....and face judgement.

A bit of a semantic point, I admit. But a nuance that would still make both reincarnation and Hebrews in alignment.

Jesus gave us one command and one only....."love one another".

Thank you, first of all, for your kind comments. They are much appreciated.

I appreciate your pointing me to your other posting concerning psychiatry and psychology and their possible transformation due to NDEs in those respective fields.

That is where there is a dichotomy between what the Holy Bible says and what science and medicine says about this matter. I much prefer to believe what God says in Scripture rather than what man says.

The Christian Holy Bible is explicit in that what determines where one will eventually end up is due to whether they are Saved or "Born Again." Those who do not take advantage of being saved while still here in this realm do not have any guarantee that they can enter into Heaven, in fact, Scripture is quite clear about that as most likely they will not. As for science and medicine, there are numerous examples where empirical evidence has been used to sustain the belief that a person's spirit can disengage from their human body under certain circumstances such as being declared clinically dead, gravely ill, comatose, etc. and when the person is revived they return to tell us of the wonders that they saw and heard that can most times be verified if it happened in their immediate surroundings, etc. What cannot be verified as easily (though with concerted reports among others who had a like experience it indeed may) is what they may have seen in another realm of existence.

But I too believe that the more pure a person is at the time of their departure from this world and life the better the chances they will end up in a loving, amicable new dimension where they can identify with others of like mind. You see, it works this way. If a person is always prone to evil or doing harm to others and goes through life always in that same modus operandi, when they make their transition from physical body into full spirit they will go to the place most appropriate for them where that same type of atmosphere exists which would be one of the lower to lowest realms. In essence, it is they who send themselves to that particular realm by their own actions while in this world. Conversely, if a person is good, kind, compassionate towards others, humble, forgiving, and loving unto others and has been Saved, then they will be able to enter into Heaven, the most beautiful place ever where they will remain in spirit for eternity.

And for the not-so-good person it may take them years, centuries, even longer (their spirit that is) to finally learn their lessons to be kind, good, loving, compassionate, and forgiving before they will be given a chance to elevate into a higher realm of spiritual existence. This has been talked about for quite some time in discussions and information that is shared with other colleagues who specialize in these matters.

So, the moral of the story is Be Good to Everyone. Perform Kind Deeds Towards Others. Help and Love Your Fellow Man. But above all else, Save Yourself by becoming Born Again through Jesus Christ who is the only One who can guarantee an incarnate person's salvation. It takes just saying a few words that will later be regarded as your 'Passport Towards Eternal Salvation.'

If anyone is interested in knowing what that particular prayer is to become Saved thereby guaranteeing Heaven when they pass on, please feel free to ask for it.

Another aspect to this question is whether or not time is limited to being one line..... but instead may branch and branch and branch...… as moments in the past are completely replicated and then different branches of time spun off. If this does happen then each of these new branches of time would fulfill Ezekiel chapter 37.

String Theory indicates a creator so powerful that this would not be all that difficult to imagine. If you scroll down in this blog you will see a quotation from an encyclopedia published in the '90's that fundamental energy operates at some TRILLIONS the level of energy that can be attained in a particle accelerator.

What limitation would really exist for a Being/ Beings/ beings... composed fundamental or nearly fundamental energy?

    www.CarbonBias.blogspot.ca

One version of me could go to a low level of heaven..... or even a prison environment.... and another version of me.... could go to a much much higher level....... due to our freedom to make wiser choices as higher amounts of the Holy Spirit is poured out in a new time line.

Believe what you will as God gave you free will choice to do so. But the fact remains that the Scripture quoted speaks about we being appointed by God to "die" only ONCE and then we go to and are judged by God and will remain in spirit form for eternity never again to return to Earth as anyone else. Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, incarnated over 2,000 years ago and His mother is Mary. Neither of them have reincarnated and neither will we. They are not other people today and never will be. God is the same yesterday, today, and will be the SAME tomorrow as per His word. As for we returning as a butterfly, etc. that does not happen as one life form does not automatically transform itself into another because God did not create mankind to do that anymore than for us to return again as another human being, or God would have laid that all out in Scripture to specifically address that, such as to say that we reincarnate. He did not, so we will not. We will, however, RESURRECT at the Second Coming of Jesus and there is a big difference there.

Well, just to make my position clear....I don't believe in the Bible or the God of the Bible. Having read it.....that "God" comes off as a psychopathic murderer with the Universe's biggest case of bi-polarism in history.

I was merely offering a semantical way out of that. Naturally, the Hebrews/Israelites didn't believe in reincarnation. Nor later Christians who based their after-life on Jewish ideas.

Frankly, reincarnation as a eschatology would be much better for the "image" of God...as the pure dichotomy of "It's either Heaven or Hell...nothing in-between" creates a big problem of theodicy...as it relates to the "evilness of God".

That's a good part of the reason the Catholic Chruch created "Purgatory"....to resolve that. But the typical view of Purgatory is almost like reincarnation....the "purification" of the soul, so that it reachs a state where it can finally be allowed into Heaven.

I actually do believe in Elijah dying once..... and John the Baptist dying once.... and both of them going through a life review/judgment with the Word/ Logos after they died.........… and both John the Baptist as well as Elijah live eternally in heaven.... Three year old Colton Burpo actually saw John the cousin of Jesus during his near death experience.... but this would not rule out a part of Elijah/John the Baptist being used to record the identity of another version of this person at this time.......... It is kind of like taping six different half hour situation comedies on one DVD...… but the DVD/ hard drive for both Elijah as well as John the Baptist... may be significantly more powerful than either Elijah or John was.......

I am a Christian, and yes I happen to be homosexual. Homosexuality isn't a sin often times the bible refers to people who fornicate and people get mixed up. during the times those sections were written the Greek pagans that the Jewish people lived amongst were called caananites. They worshipped a deity called Baal, who was a Canaanite fertility god by having sex with each other. If you didn't have sex you didn't like Baal. Thus single guys and ladies had to visit prostitutes, plenty of them were young men or quadash. The bible forbids that.

Excellent analysis of the history of the time in which the Bible was written Polydectes!

Our situation in 2014 is so different........ we Christians used our political and economic and religious power to organize holocausts on the First Nations peoples of all nations that we conquered......on the Africans through slavery.......... Protestant REformer Martin Luther set the stage for the holocaust on the Jewish people of the Nazi era through much of his writings ........ and I am glad that at our time period the Christian government of Uganda is listening to and improving a proposed set of laws in which we Christians could have initiated a holocaust on the Gay men of Uganda.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/relig...ristians-organize-holocausts-other-group.html

Best explanation I have read on why we Christians organize holocausts on other group.

Basically..... it is because we are far more so in tune with the dark side of the force, (fear)... than with light - love?!

Sorry I took so long to respond. I haven't been to this site for sometime. Which scripture is inappropriate? The one were Jesus says that marriage is between one man and one woman? The one's forbidding homosexuality, both male and female?

Bottom line is homosexuality is a sin in Judaism and Christianity. As much as liberals want to ignore the scriptures for their own perverse reasons, they can't rewrite the Bible.

Nothing? Sounds like a sweeping generalization. Sure it does, let's be a little mature about this. Homosexuality is a sin and the bible clearly says so. You don't have to believe in the bible if you don't believe what it says. But it says what it says.

Have to love those, "When did you stop beating your wife?" questions.

I don't know, do you believe heterosexuals should be executed?

I'm just pointing out the fact that the bible says it is a sin. I know that hurts some people's feelings but too bad. It's just a fact.

My personal opinion is more scientific than religious. Homosexuality was considered a mental disorder until 1973, when for no other reasons than political ones, with no scientific studies, findings or basis, the APA deleted it from their list of mental disorders.
