I'm on graveyards this week and next, even thru Thksgiving.

Today is my Tuesday. Yesterday was my Monday. No time off until next Tuesday.

My meals all have to be short and sweet for a while.

    And no drinking.

12-on 12-off does not leave any time for anything else but work and sleep and a quick meal.

Just woke up after 6 hours sleeping. I have the black drapes from Walmart covering my windows.

Thx, but me & tech support were thisclose all morning. Think everything is worked out now. SharePoint only works on Google Chrome; pdf's open on internet instead of Adobe (changed default); tiny text & icons enlarged; etc etc. Last thing tech said before he left, "Windows 10 was really designed for tablets. Surprised y'all are 'upgrading' to 10. Go figure."

    Greaaaat. ;)

    Not a bad idea
I usually save the ham for New Years Day - tenderloin for Christmas.

On reflection I like your idea. Ham is easier and one turkey is enough hassle. Spiral ham is easiest. ;-)

I concur with the turkey but I take my waterfowl medium rare. Roast until internal temp is 130-135, remove from oven, tent with foil for a bit. Temp will continue to rise to 135-140.
With waterfowl, if there isn’t blood on your plate when you finish eating it, you cooked it wrong. IMO.

Fowl like Goose or Duck are hard to cook.Because they are full of
fat. That fat has to be eliminated during cooking.Julia Child recommended
pouring Hot water on the bird during cooking at intervals.
While rotating the bird a quarter turn in the pan.
Then using one of those cooking basting squirters to
sop-up all the excess fat dripping in the roast pan.

I am a waterfowl hunter that is as strung out on it as a heroin addict is on their thing. But I live on the southern end of the pacific flyway. I hunt about 50 miles north of the Mexico border in the imperial valley of California. By the time the birds have made it this far, they have no fat left. I understand domestic, store bought bird can be fatty. I have never tried any of that.

Well like most things cook-worthy.Think a replay of
A Christmas Story. This is Britain now.And that Goose in the
Butcher window is skinny { not full and plump } and more like
threadbare.Who would be Interested in buying.
    Let alone cooking.
Think fishing for skinny goldfish in a unkempt backyard
pond versus fly fishing in Wyoming in a clear stream where
Brown Trout are fast and fat and without a care in the world.
    Except for them Flies.

Any bird that you kill yourself even a chicken will be a lot cleaner than one processed by a meat packing plant.

Therefore you can even safely eat it raw if you want.

Not true of pork however since the piggies do a lot of rooting and eat a lot of decayed crap.

Venison used to be safe but now there are various wasting diseases and also tick borne diseases that you need to freeze and cook to death.

These birds aren’t skinny, the are muscle bound ripped and lean. They just flew themselves in from Canada or maybe even further north. They got fat before the trip and burned it all of in their journey. Well until they got too close to my shotgun. Buy healthy and hearty they are. They have just burned off their fat stores by the time they got to me.

Speaking of birds/fowl, for dinner I went all out and made a big pan of breaded fried chicken thighs.

After frying them then the smallest one I diced to put into the white gravy.

The biggest one I ate with stir fry vegies and noodles.

The rest I bagged and chilled for chicken sandwiches for the next couple of days.

    Yum !!

I don’t have a problem with giving my immune something to do from time to time. Your body’s first duty is to keep you alive. Give it a challenge on occasion, keep it active and on alert. If you sterilize every thing you come in contact with, your immune system will go into hibernation.

I made 2 chicken sandwiches for my graveyard shift tonight and pack them into my ice chest with drinks and other snacks.

Now I am ready to go -- another 9 hours in total darkness with only my SUV's heater and my 45ACP to keep me warm.
