Chinese food products did kill a lot of our pets a few years ago, but so far it has not been proved that any humans have been killed - unless they ate pet food.

IOW, China is innocent until proven guilty - It's the American Way.
    So bon apatite! ;-)

Um ... give us the context. How and why would you know what
    " mud " tasted like.
I love it when posters get cute.Say stupid stuff w/o a second
thought. As if ending all debate on the subject.

I'm enjoying the cooler weather in Texas. It'll become too hot too soon for me, but this is very nice.

I plan on working outside the next few days. Most yard work was done last week, so this week will be welding a few project:
one is replacing the lights on a sailboat trailer. The brackets for the old ones are too small for the new, LED ones. A minor fix.

Another is to fix my made-from-scratch yardarm flagpole. The top 5 feet lean a bit and I need to cut, straighten then reweld it.

Well, most of us who had semi-normal childhoods have tasted mud, I know I have.

Shrimp and lobster, if not soaked properly while alive, will have an earthy taste to them.

I guess it can then be assumed that as Kids most of us have
    Pooped in our pants.
Assume NOT what you aren't willing to be embarrassed by.
Unless you've filled out a application for a job that had a section
for Most embarrassing moments in yer life.
And you took up the entire application citing chapters and verse
    of a Life Well Embarrassed.

I was fond of Fives and Purina brand dog foods. But then the dog and I got into a fight over the food bowl... It wasn't pretty.

I found the black fives most compelling. You don't see a lot of black food.

There are basically 3 type Dog Food buyers.
1.} the type who throw caution to the wind and never give a
second thought about quality or the list of ingredients. These type
dog people just as soon load up on huge 50 lb. bags of Ol' Roy.
Which is Wal*Mart's brand.Named after Sam Walton's bird dog.
I see a lot of crusty old timers buying this brand and they look
like the real deal.Like the kind of guys who Hunt with their doggies.

2.} The exact opposite of a Ol' Roy dog food buyer.
The Dog food snobs. As if some right of passage. As if some
guarantee. However Better and fresher ingredients make for
better results.More vitamins and ability to keep a dog bright-eyed
and bushy tailed. However, some Dog Food cost as much or more
than people food. These type Dog food buyers steadfastly chose
only stores like a - Feeder Supply - where there is no shortage of
designer Dog Brands.I shop at - Feeder Supply -.
No sense in screwing around or experimenting with our pets.
They aren't put on earth for testing.I say our Pets are God's gift
for Humanity.I think that when a human treats their pets like Gold
they end up living a longer life.Like a Doris Day or Bette White.
    That's My theory.

3.} those who are undecided as a rule and go either way.
They tend to experiment with dog food brands a little too much.
Which can be a problem.Dogs like consistency.Plus what happens
when your dog or pet takes a likin' to a certain brand and one experiments
with a more expensive brand and the pets refuses to eat.
You've spent Good money after bad.

My dogs love Old Roy food and their ages range from 15-18 human years. That's 105-126 in dog years. Cant ask much more from a dog food than that.

Again ,,, what Isn't an Earthy taste.?
    A Mars taste.Or a Jupiter Taste.Maybe a nice Pluto taste.
Like what motivates a Bluto to keep seated at his favorite

Why would I be embarrassed by eating mud pies ate age 5? Unlike some people, I can laugh at myself, and face reality with the truth.

I've done stupid stuff, I've embarrassed myself, and I am human.

    I HAVE EATEN MUD!!

Whew, glad to have that off my chest.

Yes,most dogs go fir chasing a thrown stick.
Now the key is getting good at throwin' ones Schtick.
Using Good " Schtick ". Like in the heyday of the Borscht Belt.

There is a different taste to something that has actually been on/in the earth, versus something that is grown above the earth (as in, on a plant or tree).

But you split hairs with a battle axe. Such is the entertainment for the day.

That is The Final determinant of a dog food. How long will it allow
my Dog to live. But I've kinda studied this and have come up empty.
My First Husky lived to be 12 1/2.My 2nd Husky a little over 15 years.
The key being not to feed the dog { especially a Husky } table
    scraps { no matter just a little mixed-in w/their dry food.}.
I remember a neighbor down the street who had a malamute with
a lead attached to a nice dog house. But that Dog was never off that
lead.I know it lived past 15 years old.I never said anything as the dog was
always quiet as a church mouse. But it did live a long life.I could cry
thinking about how that dog musta felt most days. There is no call
for that kind of treatment { Living conditions }. I had a buddy who
pulled the same thing. He lived on his Parents baby Farm and they
had a herding dog { Border collie } to keep their cattle { always kept 2
cattle on their 11 acres }.That dog lived on the large porch and was not
allowed inside the home.It also never got a bath. But it lived very long.
This buddy however got hisself a bird dog for Quail Hunting.I went
hunting a few times with him. That dog was ignored.Lived on a lead
attached to a small dog house and was fed leftover veggies from their
garden.Plus it's water tray was never cleaned out.It lived about 5-6 yrs.
