    Osage Orange is also known as Bois d'Arc. I know this because bois darc chunk told me when I had asked the meaning of the user name.
    Osage Orange is a wood that is valued to make bows with.

    I thought the way it went was a Little Birdie told me so.
    At least,in certain quarters.
    I wonder if Robert Stroud - Birdman of Alcatraz - { 1962 } would
    differ.I mean,he did have a hair trigger temper.Until a certain
    widdle birdie appeared at his cell window.

    Interesting tidbit.

    We have a number of those trees in our little enclave with the neighbors. Back some time ago, the female neighbor, who was not overly fond of the male neighbor's dog, an annoying barker and garden digger, was attempting to converse over the fence with me, as the dog kept interrupting and barking. The female neighbor shoved him away with the side of her leg, saying "go eat a hedge apple or something...' knowing that they were poisonous, I commented on that to her, and she just slowly smiled. And to myself, I said alrighty then....

    The Grass Barrier came yesterday. I didn't finish up until after dark. Had to do a little clean-up this morning.

    I'm thinking about hooking a couple of hog-fence panels to the back fence and planting clematis there. Then, plant some ground cover.

    Been working on another cabinet for the wife. This one is to replace one I made from 2by4 pine made years ago. She want a place for plants and the bottom for other stuff. Gonna cover some of it in chicken wire with four doors.

    20190904_120346.jpg This is one of the doors for the bottom of the cabinet. I was going to make this the outside of the door. 20190904_120406.jpg But I think this looks better for the outside. Love the way thus old wood cleans up. And the smell when cutting and sanding.. Is it possible to get high on sawdust? You can also see where the old plywood was up against a stud.

    If planting annuals, compost is best at the surface to six inch zone. Most perennials, six to 12" down, where the roots will feed. You can top dress, but then the roots want to stay up top too....
