20190922_100338.jpg The start of mine. The roof is reclaimed and so is all the lumber except a couple 2by4s . The studs are 3 feet apart and nailed with leftover 16 penny finish nails. The studs are just sitting on brick to keep them off the ground. Am thinking of putting fold out windows in. Probably keep the dirt floor. I bought 7.50 in screws and about 14.00 bucks on fiberglass resin. Had some fiberglass cloth found in the old house. So far... so cheap.

20190922_100357.jpg Another view... the roof tin came from an old paint shop. Have to wait for rain. Will use waterproofing to treat the old wood and spray for termites. Have old windows for light. But the location is mostly in the shade. Good thing in Bama. 20190922_100357.jpg

I kinda like places like that.Remote and woodsy and nice and dry.
Reminds me of an Alfred Hitchcock Presents and a couple old
timers out in the desert for years in a very dry place and their shack.
They spent time prospecting for gold.
As long as the place is good and dry.If it was all wet like I wouldn't
    go near it.

However being Ostentatious is basically reserved for around
Halloween.I don't mind houses or homes that are homey { down home
comfy and have that Liven-in personality }.
I literally cannot stand homes that are all white and sterile
    inside.As if even roaches wouldn't dare consider.Like a hospital
operating room. Some these Uber rich seem really endowed with their mostly
All White, everything spotless and not a speck of dust look homes/apartments.
To me ... That's the next step towards Hell.
Wouldn't that be the height of Irony.
Heaven being really homey and comfy and Hell being totally
    sterile and spotless.
I hope I don't find out tonight in a dream.
Sometimes that's my basis for me Philosophy.

I keep forgetting what month it is. I was thinking that Halloween was next week.

I took the pumpkin back down.

Obvioulsy there is plenty of space for like an attic.
Or for bales of hay.Possibly enough height to make for a
real usable wood burning stove and a draught.
    I guess the sq.footage to be around 80 - 100.
    Anywhere from an 8 ' X 10 ' to 8 ' X 12 '.

I adjusted my post based on the width of the front.
It barely looks like 10 feet wide. That is the height of a
regulation basketball hoop.Which I know more than firsthand.
Having spent many, many hours in our Driveway with the Basketball
hoop my old man put up.It was a thick metal pole which he cemented in.
The basketball hoop and backboard were a few inches too high.
That actually made me a crack shooter. In fact,I was a very good
basketball dribbler and shooter. If I was just a few inches taller I would
have really pursued going to college on a basketball scholarship.
However I had a flaw.I was always a nervous person.I tended to fold
under pressure. If I was just able to control that mental side of my
persona,I could have been a Basketball star.I spent enough hours practicing
my dribbling and shooting.I was a " Pistol Pete " Maravich in the making.
But my Mom and Dad never supported me dreams. They were too doggone
busy attending Cocktail and Bridge Parties.Or throwing them.

Considering that several large chain stores already have Christmas stuff up, your pumpkin is not that far out of place. Today is the first day of fall.

A funny thing happened on the way into August.I was hoping for
a summer like we had a few years ago.Mainly because I don't actually cotton
    cutting me lawn every week.So I was wishing for a blight { dry spell }
Maybe a couple or three weeks.I like Dry summers. But My wish more
than came true..I think we got rain like once { not much } in a month's
time.Just a slight sprinkle this morning and that's about it for the week.
I think I know how wishes work.
    No I doesn't.
This was a Test ... Only a Test.
    Resume normal functioning.

    They have teeth....

4 weeks here without appreciable rain. The trees are losing their leaves with no color.... I've stopped watering the flower gardens, so the plants will stop trying to produce foliage and flowers, and concentrate of just surviving.

Been a while without rain here. Gotta buy hay for the goats. One pond dried up but I store water during the rainy season.

However do not confuse with the dreaded 1930's Dust Bowl years.
They were as horrible as horrible gets.Far worse than what was
    shown in - The Grapes of Wrath - { 1940 }.
Year after year of extreme dry heat.Whole trees that have survived
for decades were dying as Crops could no longer be farmed. What was
left of the topsoil was blown off during year after year of high winds
on the Plains { flat land } and the notorious Dusters.
I believe I read where a Duster actually made it's way
into D.C. and F.D.R.'s White House. It wasn't until then that
F.D.R. took the Dust Bowl blight seriously.I will find where I read
    that fact.I like accuracy.In some postings.Not all.
Around this hears pop stand ... accuracy is like Wonder Bread.
I'm sure the bread is pretty accurate about it's overall health benefits.
Like a Gopher was in - Caddyshack -.
