    New chimes are also Woodstock.

Your new ones? Did they come with some information regarding how to restring?

Skip the question, it looks like their website has a bunch of info, including repair, refurbish and parts, like the string. I guess I'm going to be digging the chimes out and have a look-see.

Thats why I was asking. I checked out the Woodstock site and a YouTube video. Restringing that windchime seems pretty straight forward.

    You got this.

Yep that and a gourmet meal for us...was MacDonalds on payday. We were so broke. The beauty of being broke when he graduated we owed nothing. We managed to pay for all of his courses each quarter by skimping and saving. We had a lot of broke days.

I discovered puffed wheat and mustard when I was young and broke.
Not too bad. Especially compared to the alternatives: hunger, bugs etc.

Catsup and hot water does not make tomato soup did you learn that too? I bet the puffed wheat and mustard days are some of your best memories.

    *gag*
That sounds like my Cream of Chicken/Cream of Mushroom over rice for the days of broke. I can't eat it now, my gag reflex kicks in.

The realization that a few missed paychecks could lead to living in my car eating puffed wheat and mustard was very unpleasant, but when reality bites hard enough you can think fast and change course very fast.

I thought it would be horrible, but it was rather like mustard on a bun w/o the hotdog.
Not a treat, but not all that bad - especially if you are really hungry.

Sometimes you make choices to do without to get where you want to be.
Hard times will teach you things about yourself you never knew before. Life can be a real roller coaster ride.

If youve never done without, you never really appreciate what you have. We have generations today that prove that old adage.

I have a whole list of stories. It definitely teaches you how to make do with what you have.

Gmornin Daise. I have lots of stories too. My folks divorced when I was 5 and the next 10 years were very challenging for me & mom. Single mothers werent 'in style' back then I had a great mom who never made me feel poor or unloved... but when I grew up and realized not everybody moved everytime the rent was due and most kids didnt go to multiple grade schools or stay with strangers so their mom could work. Tough times make tough people. ;)

It was White Castle, for me. Going to school, living in the YMCA, and eating White Castle every day. I think they were five mini-greaseburgers for a dollar. Later, I couldn't eat it. Gag.

Like wearing your brothers shoes after he outgrew them... I hated that I was the hand me down princess. Shoveling cow manure to sell to the snowbirds for fertilizer, catching crickets and digging worms in the summer to sell for fish bait makes you realize the importance of soap. I have even peddled watermelons door to door.

White Castle belly busters are steamed over the chopped onions.
They can be very addicting. You can buy boxes of them frozen now in many supermarkets if you ever miss the experience.
    Or you can go DIY:

The project house is ready for market. Spent the last two weekends taking care of the minutia.

Here's hoping. I'll share the listing when it goes live....
