And with all due respect, your idea would be incorrect. All airplanes in the air today are required to have a magnetic compass independent of all electrical sources in the airplane. This compass can be used for emergency navigation. When pilots lose electrical power, they don't start navigating by stars. There are backups.

If they cannot see this compass because the lights are out they can start a fire with shoe strings and a stick too.

All pilots carry a flashlight in their bags. Flashlights are also carried in airliners' cockpits for emergency use.

Just trust me on this, I'm a pilot and mechanic.

I am worried to, but I don't know how they think they are going to fly it that far, and get into our airspace- I don't think this is intended for us, but since I don't have the thought process of these sadistic soul less creatures, I am probably wrong.

i doubt Iran is involved. not only could they buy one with less drama, they have Iran Air, their national airline.

I believe the Israeli is half right, but it is not Iran that the finger points to.
Anwar Ibrahim since he will have the most to gain from an eneffective Malaysain government.

Good point. I really hope its found in the middle of the Indian Ocean and all of this speculation was just that. Its probably going to be Syrian rebels and Obama is going to have glory because he wanted to go to war months ago or something. Far fetched, but so is this whole story.

yeah, but if they bought one and used it on israel or America, everyone would know who to blame......

besides, it would have had to fly over india to get there, and they have a coupla radars and such.

It would basically mean, that india stole it. If they didnt report it flying over their territory.

and if India did steal it, pakistan is the most likely target.

i want everyone in this scheme found so they can have a fair trial before they hang. one of the pilots had a not cheap flight simulator in his home. follow the money that put it there, and the plot will unravel.

And the theory that the pilots are not in on it because they have happy wives and money is an absurd reason. They could have been plotting this for decades and have been paid handsomely in exchange for what they did.

fly west out of Malaysia, refuel in the Maldives and go north. you'll find a bunch of shady countries with various terrorist groups that can't buy a jet, but can fund stealing one.

The two Islamic pilots are the prime suspects.

Two Islamic pilots working in a corrupt, 3rd world ****hole have many advantages.

    First motive: $$$.

    Second: Terror.

My view is that passengers tried to overpower the Islamic pilots when they discovered what was going on, then the pilots crashed the plane into the ocean.

i want to know who paid for the flight simulator and why the NSA hasn't tracked the cell phones yet? they kept ringing for hours after the flight disappeared, why haven't the towers been traced yet?!

How do you get a false flight plan for the world's largest passenger airliner? America in particular is somewhat careful about that kind of thing since 9/11. And unless you have the Tsar Bomba it would be much easier with a much smaller plane

And it wouldn't work over Newark. Christie could just lean his huge bulk over the city and restore his chances at the Presidency, all for the price of a small sunburn.

Who were having difficulty establishing control. They just don't make flying saucers like they used to.

A facility capable of landing and refueling one of the world's largest airplanes is not a jungle airstrip likely to escape notice, and you'd have to wonder how Somalia could afford it. I will concede that there are desert areas comparable to Broom Lake in the northern arc of that satellite detection they've been talking about. Maybe it was Russian terrorists, possibly from one of the Silk Road republics.

I keep wondering, maybe it was the passengers they were after, though for what reason given all this time with no word?:confusion:.

I saw on Fox News they are exploring a theory a hacker could have done this to this flight.

In this part of the world, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

The NSA I doubt can track cell phones over open oceans where there is no cell service. If someone had a sattelite phone--then we would have heard something by now.

The chances of the jet passengers being held hostage by some remote jungle airstrip is slight---maybe 10%. 90% says "R.I.P."

That doesn't even make sense. A hacker is going to override the pilot's controls? For seven hours?
