The plane didn't blow up, it was followed on military radar for 350 miles after civilian radar lost it, in a direction not consistent with it's destination. A witness said he saw it flying (under power) at a low altitude over the ocean. Passengers cell phones appear to be active. I think someone stole the (*)(*)(*)(*)er. And the ramifications of that are scary indeed.
Yes, it is. Yeah, listening to the news earlier they said the families of the passengers have been calling their cell phones, which are ringing, which means the aircraft isn't under water....... 2 passengers boarded w/stolen passports.... terrorists.
Actually I think it's more likely one or both of the pilots were in on it. Because whoever rerouted that aircraft knew enough to turn off the transponders, knew enough to get low to get off the radar, and if they wanted the plane, had to know enough to land it. Possibly at an abandoned airfield with no active landing aids, which means a hand landing.
my theory is that the plane landed on a deserted island and they will be fiming a reality remake of the show LOST...
As I recall....on 9/11, the hijackers immediately killed the pilots and turned the transponders off....and then flew the planes. Thing is....even if they did it this way and took the plane......did they land it somewhere? If it's a terrorists attack, why haven't they made their demands known? So many unknowns.
My theory is horrifying. They have a nuke, but no delivery device. A 777 can easily carry such a device. Get an inbound flight plan to Newark, pop the fuse over the middle of Manhattan, poof, bye-bye NYC. And not a single suspicious move until boom.
Unless this turns out to be "Lost II", my guess is they had a catastrophic electrical failure in the cockpit, and were attempting to navigate in the direction using a known star or moon or whatever hoping to find land until their back-up power system failed, at which point they went in nose first, maybe is shallow water that has trapped most of the debris in the ocean floor.

Eye-witness report says it was flying over the ocean at a low level, which tells me they were trying to avoid radar. Whatever happened to that plane, if those 2 data points are accurate, it was intentional.

Since we're all making our guesses as to what happened......I'm going to say that the two pilots hijacked their own plane and all those people are hostages somewhere. One reason I think this is because the Captain of the plane has a Flight Simulator in his home. Very unusual I would say. I think that the stolen passports.....stolen last August........was to get other terrorists on the plane to help and assist with the passengers in this hijacking. If so, I think it was planned for a long time. What the reason is, I wouldn't know.....other than having that many hostages including babies would be quite a bargaining tool. I would think if my scenario is correct, we'd be hearing the demands pretty soon. Just a guess, though. Because that's all we can do now.......
I hope you're right. Sadly, I think the passengers are dead. I think they wanted the plane, either to pull off another 9/11 type attack, or even worse, to use as a delivery device for a nuke that they have, but lack a delivery system.
I don't think he means a game, rather a flight simulator. My flight instructor had/has one; an instrument panel, controls and quasi cockpit mock-up of a Cessna 172 connected to a computer, monitor and plotting board. All for setting up instrument flight and landing scenarios at various locations and airfields in the US. Very realistic IFR/IMC flying actually.

I think you're right. Another rumor is that after the transponder was turned off the plane started flying towards Mecca. Apparently there is another type of military radar that was still able to track the aircraft for a while after it turned off the electronics. I think we will start hearing some ransom demands in the next week or so. - - - Updated - - - Right again. The most likely scenario is that one or both of the pilots was behind this.
You only think that because the pilots had a muslim name. What you're suggesting is hollywood movie material.
