Spicer: Dems Didn’t ‘Almost Win’ in Georgia, ‘They Lost’

Trump won the district by 2. Did you think you might be confusing a popular incumbent with a safe district?

 

Reminds me the morning after the 2004 election, with Ohio called for Bush, but close.
Every news anchor you care to name was grilling Scty of State Blackwell for 'any possibility they remaiing votes will give the election to Kerry'
His repeated answer: There's just no way the remaining precincts will break in the proportions necessary to give the state to Kerry.
They were livid, of course, when they directly received the answer they did not wan to hear.

 

The truth is right under you nose and you missed it. Romney won this district by a wide margin and this distict has voted solidly for republicans since 1970. Its only when Trump entered the picture that things are starting to change. First Clinton almost won the district and how a democrat gets the largest share of the special election and almost got 50% in a very crowded field. In Kansas the democrat almost won in a previously safety Republican district and lost by only 7 point even when he had barely any support from the DNC. Time will tell whether this will eventually translate to wins for democrats in the midterm.

Almost winning is also loosing. It would be unwise to be dismissive of such a close call. Perhaps the republicans will make the same mistake the democrats made in underestimating the opposition.
